Ciao Bella! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina blogger, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Milan! Honestly, this city is a dream come true for a girl who loves fashion, dance, and of course, tutus! 🩰✨
I landed in Milan yesterday, my trusty pink tutu, of course, taking pride of place in my carry-on luggage. Let's be honest, I never leave home without it. It's more than just a tutu, it's a symbol of my love for dance, my personality, and it definitely attracts attention, especially here in Italy. You should see the looks I get! 😜
The moment I stepped out of the airport, the smell of freshly baked bread and coffee beans hit me like a wave. My stomach was already rumbling for the authentic Italian breakfast I knew was waiting for me. And oh my goodness, you just wouldn't believe the pastries! They are works of art - a beautiful explosion of sugary perfection! 🥐
After settling into my cute little hotel in the heart of Milan, it was time to embrace the city. First stop: The Duomo! Now, I know you've all seen pictures of it, but it's so much more breathtaking in person. The intricate architecture, the statues, the vibrant colours… it was absolutely awe-inspiring! I swear, I felt like a tiny little fairy flitting around a majestic palace! 👑
Lunchtime Adventures:
My favourite way to navigate this city is by tram, especially with the sunshine warming my face as I glide past picturesque streets lined with chic boutiques. It was hard not to pop into a few shops and admire all the beautiful clothes! I found a gorgeous emerald green dress that made me think of a mermaid, all shimmery and sparkling - I had to get it! 🧜♀️👗
For lunch, I was introduced to a new Italian tradition - aperitivo! Basically, you pay a fixed price and get a whole platter of delicious nibbles and a drink - what a bargain! And did I mention the food? The creamy ricotta and cherry tomatoes, the roasted peppers with a hint of balsamic… perfection! 🤤🍷
Ballet, Shopping and Milan's Glittering Lights:
Speaking of perfection, the main reason I was in Milan was to experience the magic of ballet here! This evening, I was off to Teatro alla Scala for the famous opera house's ballet season! And wouldn't you know it, tonight's performance featured none other than Romeo and Juliet! This was the highlight of my entire trip, and I couldn't stop gushing about it afterwards. The dancers were simply breathtaking! I felt the emotion of the play, the joy, the sorrow, and the passion… it was utterly captivating! I almost jumped out of my seat with joy and excitement, which, let’s face it, might have been a tad bit awkward considering the rest of the audience was, shall we say, a bit more composed! But hey, I can’t help it when I feel the power of ballet coursing through my veins! ✨🩰
Of course, after the ballet, it was time to treat myself to some well-deserved shopping! The streets around Teatro alla Scala were alive with elegant stores showcasing exquisite garments and accessories. It felt like I had stepped into a glamorous magazine. And let’s not forget the endless selection of delicious gelato to satisfy my sweet tooth after all that ballet! 🍦
As night fell, the city shimmered with twinkling lights. A stroll through Piazza del Duomo after dinner felt like stepping into a fairytale, the beautiful cathedral standing tall and proud in the moonlight. This city is alive, it has a heart and soul, and you can’t help but feel its magic seeping into you! 🥰
A Reminder of Why I Love This Life:
Travelling, experiencing new cultures, and spreading the joy of dance and pink tutus is what fills my heart and makes me feel alive!
