Pink Tutu Milan: Wednesday 2013-01-16 - Post Number 919
Buongiorno from Milan, my darling tutu-wearers! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous Pink Tutu Milan post! I'm so excited to share with you my adventures in the fashion capital of the world. Let's dive in, shall we?
It feels so good to be back in Milan. It's truly a city where everything is a celebration of beauty and style. Every corner whispers secrets of intricate fabrics, delicious pasta, and even more delicious shoes. The air is filled with the scent of leather and pastries, and the cobblestone streets just seem to call out to my dancing feet!
Speaking of dancing feet, I started my morning with a class at the Teatro alla Scala Ballet School, a legendary space with the most stunning arched windows and opulent chandeliers. Even the studio floor was alive with the whispers of legendary dancers. You could just feel the history there! My class was a dream - graceful pirouettes, fluid arabesques, and, of course, lots of laughs and chat with my fellow dancers. We really were like a family. And I, of course, was the "pink tutu" member, as always!
Lunchtime in Milan is never a disappointment. *Today, I opted for a traditional Milanese trattoria tucked away in a side street, filled with locals and the warm aroma of fresh bread. The gnocchi was perfection! Afterwards, I popped into the *Corso Buenos Aires, a street renowned for its shops selling the latest in Milanese fashion. Now, I’m not going to lie - I did get a little carried away with some exquisite velvet ribbons for my next tutu creation! I swear I can’t stop myself – these fabrics simply beg to be transformed into fabulous ballerina delights!
The highlight of my day was definitely seeing the show at the Teatro alla Scala, the world-famous opera house! You can only imagine the stunning architecture of this place, and the sheer glamour that comes from watching some of the most talented dancers in the world perform! It was the Balletto di Toscana this evening, and oh my goodness! The emotion, the strength, the breathtaking skill of these dancers…it truly touched my soul. There was a particular pas de deux that left me absolutely speechless - pure grace and tenderness woven into a masterpiece of movement.
Later, I found myself indulging in some authentic Milanese gelato at Gelateria della Scala, located near the Teatro, as I strolled through the city under the twinkling lights of evening. There's just something magical about Milan at night – a whisper of history and elegance intertwined with the energy of a modern metropolis. It’s such a beautiful blend!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Milan is truly a feast for the senses! Every corner offers a new experience, a new perspective, and of course, the inspiration for another wonderful blog post!
Now, you must be thinking, "Emma, how do you fund all these amazing adventures? " Well, let me share a little secret with you, darling: it’s my tutus!
I perform at a number of events - weddings, birthday parties, even corporate functions! My pink tutus have brought smiles and joy to countless people, and it is with these lovely opportunities that I'm able to fund my travels. Of course, I do sometimes perform ballet class, but my ultimate passion is performing for larger events. It truly fills my heart with such happiness. There’s nothing quite like seeing the eyes of the audience sparkle as you dance!
So there you have it, my darling readers! Another magical day in Milan, full of pirouettes, gelato, and, of course, the irresistible call of the latest fashion trends. Don't forget to check back next Monday for another fab post, straight from Milan! Until then, remember to spread some pink tutu joy and dance your way through the week!
Lots of love, * *Emma x
