Pink Tutu Milan #938: La Dolce Vita with a Pink Twist! 🩰🇮🇹

Ciao bella! 👋 It’s Emma, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, back with another weekly dispatch from the glamorous city of Milan!

This week has been an absolute whirlwind of culture, couture, and…well, lots of pink tutus, of course! I’ve been hopping on and off trams (such a chic way to get around!), soaking up the Italian sunshine, and savouring the most exquisite gelato I’ve ever tasted.

I have to tell you, Milan is truly a city that’s embraced its fashionable spirit. It's like stepping into a fairytale, with elegant boutiques lining cobbled streets, the scent of leather and freshly baked pastries swirling in the air, and everyone, it seems, exuding effortless style. Even the pigeons seem to have a more refined air to them here!

Speaking of style, I’ve been particularly enamoured by the gorgeous fashion that’s filling Milan’s streets these past few days. We're right in the heart of Spring/Summer Fashion Week, and let me tell you, the city is buzzing with energy. It’s like the entire world's most stylish minds have gathered to showcase their latest creations.

And wouldn’t you know it, pink tutus seem to be having their moment in the spotlight! Yes, you read that right! I spotted a swoon-worthy tulle creation at the Armani show (think layers of peach-hued tulle, a delicate bow, and a splash of sequined magic) – truly the epitome of Italian elegance. I can’t wait to recreate my own version for my next performance!

From the Stage to the Streets: Ballet in Milan 🩰

This week, Milan has also been alive with the beautiful energy of dance! The Teatro alla Scala is a real treat for the eyes and ears – I saw a truly magnificent rendition of Swan Lake on Monday. The dancers were sublime, the sets breathtaking, and the music… well, the music just sent shivers down my spine. I confess, I teared up a little. Ballet is so powerful, it really can touch your soul!

Speaking of the stage, I'm delighted to share that I'll be gracing the Teatro delle Erbe stage next Saturday. It's a quaint theatre, full of history, charm, and - wait for it - a rather dazzling pink neon sign (did I mention I love pink?). The show will feature a mix of classical and contemporary choreography, so get ready for a dazzling journey through the world of dance!

Shopping, Sights, and Streetside Splendour! 🛍️

Of course, no trip to Milan is complete without a spot of shopping, and this city offers an incredible feast for the fashionista senses!

My first stop was the gloriously chaotic Via della Spiga, which is overflowing with designer boutiques, from the opulent Gucci to the chic Dolce & Gabbana. This street is practically a museum for lovers of haute couture. I even snagged a pair of adorable pastel pink ballet shoes (just the thing to elevate any outfit!)

Next, I wandered through the heart of Quadrilatero della Moda (Milan's famous fashion district), and just soaked up the incredible energy of the boutiques, each one showcasing the very best in Italian craftsmanship. I could get lost in these streets for hours!

The beautiful Duomo, Milan's majestic cathedral, is a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. I took a walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the shopping arcade right next to the Duomo. It's an incredible blend of Victorian-era elegance and modern-day luxury, with opulent cafes, top-tier brands, and enough gold to rival a palace. It’s certainly an experience!

I can’t leave Milan without mentioning its fantastic food! Italy is a foodie’s paradise, and Milan is no exception. I’ve been indulging in authentic pasta dishes, sampling creamy risotto, and - you guessed it! - more than my fair share of pink-tinted gelato! There's truly nothing like a fresh scoop of raspberry gelato after a day of exploring!

A Pink Tutu in Every Corner

You know how much I love to see my fellow tutu-wearers out and about, and I was delighted to spot a delightful pink-hued creation on a little girl, bouncing excitedly with her mother at the Duomo. Her pink tutu twirled perfectly as she chased after the pigeons. It just warmed my heart!

Milan is a city that welcomes colour and joy, so I was determined to spread my love of pink tutus, well…everywhere. I wore my favourite pale pink tulle creation for my performance at the Teatro delle Erbe, and received a shower of compliments and even a few “Brava!”s!

I even saw a man in a pink-tinted bow tie (although it wasn't a tutu, it was close!). It really felt like a win! I'm determined to inspire everyone in this city, and maybe even the whole world, to embrace a touch of pink tutu magic in their lives!

Ciao for Now!

That’s all for now from fabulous Milan, but keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post – it’ll be bursting with all the juicy details about my show at the Teatro delle Erbe and the wonderful time I’ve been having exploring this incredible city!

Until then, wear your tutus proudly, be fearless, and always remember: pink is the colour of happiness! ✨

Love,

Emma x
