Pink Tutu Milan - Post #1025 - Wednesday 2015-01-28: Ciao Bella!

Buongiorno from sunny Milan! It's Wednesday morning, the air is crisp, the sun is shining, and this pink tutu-clad ballerina is positively bouncing with excitement.

It's officially Week 4 of my Italian adventure, and things are just getting better and better! Milan has captivated me with its fashion-forward energy, exquisite architecture, and of course, its incredible ballet scene. It feels like every corner I turn, there's a new, thrilling discovery, from the world-class Teatro alla Scala to the delightful hidden gem ballet studios that are peppered across the city.

Last night was absolutely divine. I had the pleasure of witnessing a spellbinding performance at the Teatro Dal Verme, featuring the incredible, up-and-coming ballerina, Beatrice Bellini. Beatrice's grace, strength, and passion for dance were absolutely mesmerizing! And, my goodness, her tutu - a beautiful confection of layers and tulle, in the most divine shade of blush pink! It brought tears to my eyes, it was so exquisite.

But you know me - it's not just about the performances. The journey itself is half the fun! Yesterday morning, I woke up with a spring in my step, eager to explore the charming backstreets of Milan. After a delectable breakfast of fluffy croissants and strong cappuccino (trust me, Milan knows how to make a decent coffee!), I put on my trusty pink tutu, which always seems to attract the most delightful smiles from passers-by.

Today is the perfect day for a little "tutu-tastic" shopping spree. I've heard whispers of a hidden boutique tucked away on a quiet cobblestone street, rumored to carry the most exquisite pink tulle you've ever seen! (Think: a ballerina's dreamland.)

You know, I just adore the Italian fashion sense. It's chic, effortless, and with a touch of that beautiful Italian flair that can only be described as "dolce vita." It's so inspiring. Maybe it's the warm weather, the delicious food, or the beautiful cityscapes, but everyone here just seems to exude confidence and effortless style! And then there are those fabulous shoes... My current obsession? These stunning ballet flats I spotted in a little artisan shop in the heart of the Navigli district. Let’s just say, they'll be travelling home with me, packed safely in my pink tutu-themed luggage, of course!

Speaking of which, I've discovered the most delightful tramline! Imagine it, a scarlet-red, beautifully restored vintage tram, traversing the city like a graceful ballerina. Every journey on that tram feels like a ballet itself. And with each ride, I get to observe the wonderful mix of characters that call Milan home.

But enough about me! I want to hear from you lovely readers.

  • What's your dream city to visit for a pink tutu adventure?
  • Are you currently working on any ballet goals?
  • What is your favorite piece of pink tutu-worthy clothing?

And, just because it’s Wednesday, and every Wednesday should be filled with beautiful thoughts and a touch of magic, I have a challenge for you.

*Today's Challenge: Put on your most fabulous outfit - whatever it may be, a favorite dress, a sparkly top, or a chic trouser suit, and embrace the magic of feeling absolutely gorgeous. Then, do something that makes you smile! You know me, it's all about embracing joy. *

Don't forget to share your experiences in the comments below. It would make this ballerina absolutely thrilled!

Sending you a big, warm hug from sunny Milan.

Lots of love and happy twirls,

Emma, the Pink Tutu Blogger.

Pink Tutu Moments:

Here's what's happening in the world of pink tutus today:

  • On the Calendar: Today is the day the world celebrates International Day of Education, a time to appreciate the transformative power of learning. Let’s embrace the joy of discovering new things, and remember, knowledge and creativity are powerful tools that can help us navigate our world with confidence and grace, just like a ballerina gracefully gliding across a stage.
  • My Milan Must-Haves: You simply can’t visit Milan without experiencing its vibrant and colourful food markets. The Mercato Comunale di Viale Papiniano is a real gem.
  • A Glimpse Into The World of Ballet: Today, we’re celebrating the world of ballet with the beautiful Swan Lake (by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky). This timeless masterpiece of romanticism features beautiful scenes that demonstrate the duality of love and evil.

I hope you're all enjoying a lovely Wednesday! Now, where did I put that blush pink tulle I just had to buy?
