Pink Tutu Milan: Post #1035 - A Whirlwind Wednesday in Milan!
Hello my darlings! It's Wednesday, the 8th of April, and I'm writing to you from the fashion capital of the world, Milan! Honestly, it feels like a dream come true to be here, experiencing the city's vibrant energy, the delicious smells wafting from cafes and the stylish Italians rushing by, all while wearing my trusty pink tutu, of course!
The Italian Dance Spirit
This week, I was absolutely thrilled to see “La Scala” by Teatro alla Scala. What a magical experience! It was a wonderful, modern take on the classic ballet tale and the dancers were truly magnificent, showcasing incredible artistry and skill. As always, I felt the energy of the crowd and the passion for dance truly flowed through the theatre. The vibrant, colourful costumes and the powerful, emotive performances left me speechless. The Italians truly know how to enjoy a good show, and I felt completely enveloped in the magic.
Train Travel Charm
Before heading to the theatre, I took a picturesque train ride across the city, marveling at the architecture, feeling the gentle rhythm of the rails under me. It was a delightful way to start my evening, surrounded by the gentle hum of the carriages and the friendly chatter of my fellow passengers. There's something quite enchanting about the simple pleasure of train travel. It allowed me to absorb the essence of the city, observe the diverse life unfolding around me. And of course, my pink tutu was a natural conversation starter - with some lovely compliments along the way, naturally.
A Chic Lunch Stop
Prior to my ballet adventures, I had a delightful lunch in a charming little café just off Piazza della Scala, tucked away in a quiet cobbled street. The delicious smells of fresh pastries and aromatic coffee filled the air. I treated myself to a mouthwatering risotto al pomodoro with a refreshing iced tea. Honestly, this café was a little slice of Italian paradise – a truly authentic experience.
The World of Fashion
Now, Milan isn’t just known for ballet – oh no! It's a fashion powerhouse! So, I indulged in some serious retail therapy, shopping at some of the iconic fashion houses along Via Montenapoleone. You wouldn't believe the beautiful clothing! Every corner exudes elegance, sophistication and timeless style. I found some fabulous additions to my wardrobe, a delicate blush pink blouse and a silk scarf adorned with floral patterns – perfect for my evening at the opera.
Evening Embraces Elegance
Later that evening, I joined some local friends for an opera performance at Teatro alla Scala. I must say, the opera house is simply breathtaking! The ornate architecture, the plush red velvet seats, and the dazzling chandeliers truly took my breath away. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. I savoured the beautiful arias and the drama of the production, feeling utterly immersed in the world of opera. And what did I wear to this opulent event? You guessed it! My fabulous pink tutu, of course! I think it brought a little bit of my own personal charm to the grand occasion.
A Whirlwind Journey
As you can see, my day in Milan was packed full of experiences! I had a truly magical time embracing the city’s art, fashion, and culture. I felt like I stepped straight out of a fairy tale, and I couldn't help but feel incredibly lucky to be experiencing this.

And this is just a sneak peek! Next week, I'm heading to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, to see their fabulous art collection and capture some beautiful, ballet-inspired photographs.
