You know I'm a bit obsessed with ballet (sorry, not sorry!), and Milan, oh my goodness, Milan has truly outdone itself in the ballet department this week! The Teatro alla Scala - an absolute gem of a theatre, it's almost impossible to describe how stunning it is! - hosted an extraordinary performance of Swan Lake, and let me tell you, it was breathtaking. The costumes, the choreography, the dancers...all perfection!
Speaking of costumes, let's chat about mine, shall we? I sported a pink tutu (naturally!), complete with a silver-sequined bodice that caught the light like a thousand stars. It was the perfect way to complement the opulent theatre atmosphere and, as usual, turned heads all the way from the tram stop to the grand entrance of the Scala.
I'm always getting compliments on my tutus. People are always telling me how they wish they could pull off a pink tutu with as much confidence as me, but trust me, it's all about that attitude, darlings!
A Peek Behind the Curtain:
After the show, I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes peek at the Scala's backstage. There was such a sense of buzz and excitement, with the dancers still in their costumes, their hair styled perfectly. The energy was electric. Seeing all this was like opening the curtain on a whole other world - one I dream of joining someday.
The magic of ballet continues to fascinate me - the sheer effort and precision that goes into every single movement, the artistic beauty, and of course, the feeling of flight and grace! It truly inspires me to work even harder on my own dancing. I want to take a class at the Scala so badly, even if it's just for a day!
Milan's Shopping Spree: Where Glamour Meets Elegance
My darling readers know I am a self-proclaimed queen of all things girly. So naturally, I couldn't come to Milan, the capital of fashion, without a little retail therapy! My bag is currently overflowing with exquisite treasures, mostly in shades of pink, naturally.
From the designer boutiques on Via Montenapoleone to the quirky little shops on Via della Spiga, I explored every nook and cranny for that perfect accessory to add a little extra sparkle to my ballet wardrobe. Let me tell you, I scored some incredible deals – some statement jewelry for my pink tutus, a delicate pink feather boa, and a pair of dazzling ballet flats for a casual ballet-inspired look!
Oh, and I discovered a little shop with the most amazing pink tutu hats! Who would've thought?!
Food for Thought: Sweet Delights and Indulgent Dinners
Now, who could resist the temptation of Milan's delicious food?
I spent the morning exploring the vibrant Mercato Centrale - a foodie's paradise. The aromas, the colors, the vibrant atmosphere! My senses were tantalized, my taste buds begging for every last delicious bite. I had to sample all the pastries – especially the pink ones, naturally! And oh, the gelato! Creamy, sweet, and absolutely perfect, even with a scoop of strawberry, just because it was pink!
Later that evening, I savoured a delicious dinner at a charming Italian trattoria tucked away in a quiet alleyway. My meal was a delightful symphony of fresh ingredients, expertly prepared with an authentic Italian touch. But honestly, I could've eaten anywhere - everything in Milan just seems to taste a little bit better. Maybe it's the air?

Milan, you have stolen my heart with your dazzling blend of art, culture, fashion and culinary delights! But for now, it's time to say 'arrivederci'. I'm already counting down the days until my next trip to this vibrant, enchanting city.
