Pink Tutu Milan: #1060 - September 30th, 2015 - Ciao Bella!

"What’s pink and fluffy and travels all over the world? It's me, your favourite pink tutu wearing blogger!" I am Emma, writing to you from the bustling, fashion-forward streets of Milan! As you all know, Milan is a city that embraces elegance and beauty, just like my pink tutu.

This week’s post is coming to you live from Italy. It’s been an absolute whirlwind! Milan is a truly inspiring city with an endless supply of chic boutiques and a buzzing energy that’s completely infectious. I’m loving the architecture here, it’s so much more dramatic and elaborate than back home in Derbyshire! Every building is a piece of art.

So, how did I end up in the fashion capital of the world? Well, my love for ballet has taken me on a wild journey! As many of you know, I fund my travels by performing – and what better way to enjoy a new city than by performing in its beautiful theatres and grand opera houses? Last night I twirled my way across the stage at the Teatro alla Scala, a majestic venue with incredible acoustics.

Feeling like a real-life fairytale princess! You can just imagine me in my shimmering pink tutu, the stage lights illuminating every tulle fold. Every pirouette was met with thunderous applause. I truly believe ballet has the power to captivate everyone. It's a timeless art form with the power to move and inspire.

Speaking of pink tutus… I've stumbled upon a real gem – a vintage clothing shop nestled on a quiet side street. It's called 'La Belle Époque' and they have a treasure trove of pink tutus and accessories – a ballet dancer's dream! I picked up a gorgeous powder pink tulle with delicate lace trim – I can’t wait to debut it on stage back in England.

Don't forget to follow my daily adventures on Instagram (@EmmaPinkTutu)! I'm constantly uploading photos and stories. It's like having a little peek into my pink-hued world! From fashion inspiration to ballet practice to stunning scenery, I share it all.

Now, on to the highlight of the day - A delicious afternoon spent strolling around Milan’s Duomo!

This impressive cathedral is truly breathtaking. Every angle is a masterpiece, adorned with intricately carved marble and sculptures. I couldn't resist grabbing a delicious gelato, naturally with a hint of pink in it! What better way to fuel my creative energy for the day ahead?

But hold on, that’s not all! Tonight I’m off to a spectacular ballet performance at Teatro Regio Torino. This renowned theatre is renowned for its elegant design and captivating productions. It's another amazing opportunity to enjoy ballet in all its glory.

Did you know? My pink tutu and I also love exploring hidden treasures and taking advantage of Milan's fantastic tram and train system. It's so easy to get around and allows you to soak in the beauty of this charming city.

A word of advice for aspiring ballerinas: Embrace adventure! Travelling with your passion for ballet can lead to incredible experiences. From exploring beautiful cities to performing on stunning stages, every step is a precious memory. And never, ever shy away from expressing your love for the art, your tutu and of course…the colour pink!

So what’s on the agenda for tomorrow?

Well, after indulging in a hearty Italian breakfast (which has a surprising amount of pink fruit, naturally), I'll be hitting the fashion scene, armed with my trusty pink shopping bag. Milan is a haven for style enthusiasts, boasting an array of world-class boutiques.

I'm going to share some of my must-visit shops with you I’ll be sure to share some style inspiration from Milan’s hottest designers. Let's just say, there will be plenty of pink to go around!

To conclude, this city is a true joy to experience, even just for a few days. I've found so much inspiration, beauty, and delicious Italian treats! From the exquisite performances in grand opera houses to the stylish boutiques brimming with fashion finds, Milan has completely charmed me.

And just like I mentioned in last week's post, remember that wearing a pink tutu can open doors, make people smile and spark joy, just like it has for me!

Stay tuned for next week's blog post, I'll be sharing some exciting news, possibly about the next stage in my travels – you never know where my pink tutu might take me next! Until then, don't forget to embrace your inner ballerina and wear that pink tutu with confidence.

Ciao bella,

Emma
