Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma, and I'm beaming with excitement as I write to you from the vibrant, fashion-forward city of Milan! I've been here for a week now, soaking up the Italian sunshine and discovering why Milan is considered the fashion capital of the world.
This week's #PinkTutuMilan post is extra special because… drumroll please… I'm attending a fabulous performance of "Swan Lake" at Teatro alla Scala tomorrow night! Just imagine, darling: exquisite costumes, incredible choreography, and the captivating tale of Odette and Siegfried all in the grandest opera house in Milan! I'm already feeling a delightful flutter in my tutu! 🦢
Before we dive into my Milan adventures, let me share a little secret: I've been funding my travels through ballet performances. My life is pretty magical, isn't it? Dancing around in tutus and travelling to new and exciting cities? It’s a dream come true, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait to share how I juggle my ballet career with all my travels, in a separate blog post - stay tuned! 💖
So, let’s rewind a little bit to the start of my Milan escapade…
My journey began in Derbyshire, England. After bidding a tearful farewell to my darling family, I set off on my adventure. This time, I chose to travel by train, indulging in the picturesque views of the European countryside. The train was like a big, pink dreamland! So many wonderful people were going on holidays, to see loved ones, or even going to a new home! Everyone looked so excited and hopeful, just like I feel when I'm travelling to a new city. 🥰
My first few days in Milan were a whirlwind of pink perfection! I quickly fell in love with the charm of this city: from the bustling cafes to the grand architecture, there was so much to admire. My first priority, naturally, was to find the most fabulous pink tutus! I found myself browsing the enchanting boutiques in the historic Brera district. The shops were a treasure trove of exquisite designs, delicate fabrics, and vibrant colours – and, of course, the perfect pink tutus for my adventures! ✨
I also treated myself to some delicious Italian treats - oh my, you simply cannot visit Milan without indulging in the amazing gelato! I savoured the flavours of hazelnut, strawberry, and pistachio (all my favourites, of course!). The gelato was a symphony of textures and flavours - a true indulgence!🍦
Milan's shopping scene is out of this world! I spent hours browsing the renowned fashion houses of Via Monte Napoleone, where iconic designers like Prada, Gucci, and Armani create their magical creations. I was practically in a state of bliss! There are so many stunning outfits, I think I might just have to move in! 😄
Of course, I couldn't come to Milan without exploring its rich ballet scene. I spent an afternoon at the Teatro alla Scala, admiring the magnificent architecture and feeling inspired by the history of this iconic theatre. This majestic venue, with its ornate details and stunning interior, felt like a royal ballet palace! 😍
And then there are the trams, darlings! I've been taking them all around the city, watching the bustling streets whizz past. They're like mini pink dreams on wheels. The vibrant pink of the trams seems to blend seamlessly with the elegant Italian cityscape, adding a touch of playful charm to the streets. 🚃
Milan is a symphony of style, elegance, and, yes, even pink!
On this adventure, I’ve discovered the power of a pink tutu. It’s not just about a beautiful piece of clothing – it's a symbol of joy, freedom, and a touch of magic. Everywhere I go in Milan, I've seen that pink can make everything brighter, a little more fun, and, dare I say it, a little bit more glamorous! 😉
