Ciao from Milan, darling! This week I've swapped my Derbyshire hills for the stunning architecture and chic style of Milan. This city has got it all: history, fashion, and some truly inspiring ballet, which has my tutu twirling with excitement!
The journey down here was pretty magical. The train was bustling with chatty Italians and, of course, everyone was staring at my gorgeous pink tutu! I always attract attention in this fabulous frock. And the journey itself was a true adventure, winding through countryside, with little villages flashing by like a dream. I couldn't help but take a million photos!
This week, I've been immersing myself in all things Milanese! I've been exploring the city’s historic piazzas, feasting on delicious Italian pasta, and of course, practicing my leaps and turns. Did I mention the amazing shopping here? Oh, my goodness, it’s pure heaven for a tutu-loving fashionista like me!
I’m not just a ballet fan, though. My fashion heart is set aflutter by Milan’s streets, where every corner seems to unveil a new masterpiece of fashion. This week, I've had so much fun browsing for the perfect outfit for tonight’s ballet performance at La Scala. The grand theatre of Milan - how wonderful is that?

Monday - Milan: Bonjour, my beautiful City!
After a long train journey from Derbyshire, I arrived in Milan ready for an exciting week of ballet and fashion. Milan really embraced me with open arms, welcoming me into its elegant heart. After checking into my charming little hotel - with its own pink and sparkly bathtub, no less! - I started exploring the city. I've found a quaint café that makes the best cappuccino in Milan, just off the Piazza del Duomo, the heart of this fabulous city.
Tuesday - Ballerina Boot Camp!
Let me tell you, finding the best ballet class in Milan wasn't easy! But I'm always ready to put in the hard work to achieve my dream, and this amazing studio is worth every plié! The instructor is brilliant - she's just as passionate about dance as I am.
Wednesday - La Scala… here I come!
Tonight's the night, darlings! After months of anticipation, I’m finally seeing a ballet performance at the magnificent Teatro alla Scala. It's known worldwide as one of the most prestigious opera houses, so the anticipation is making my toes tap with excitement.
The performance is Giselle, a tragic but beautifully moving ballet about a peasant girl and her love for a nobleman who, in a moment of reckless love, is forced to flee, causing Giselle's heartache.
This performance is going to be phenomenal, just wait and see! The setting, the dancers, the music... this is a ballet-lovers dream! It's a night I will remember forever.
Thursday - Milan Style File
There's no denying it - Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world. After the magic of La Scala, I'm taking a day to fully embrace the Milanese fashion scene. From designer boutiques to independent shops, I'm going to be shopping 'til I drop. This city inspires me, pushing my fashion boundaries and fueling my creative side!
I am going to try on some amazing dresses and hopefully get myself a brand new, sparkly tutu! After all, there is no such thing as too many tutus!
Friday - The tram of Milan - a little Italian charm.
Today I am going to travel on Milan's tram network and explore a few more of this lovely city's hidden gems! This city's tram network is fascinating, a truly romantic mode of transportation that whisks you through bustling markets, past majestic cathedrals, and into quiet piazzas full of charm. I've taken my little sketchbook and my fancy pen, hoping to capture the essence of Milan on paper.
Saturday - A Taste of Milan!
I'm feeling ready for an authentic Milanese dining experience. I'm looking forward to trying out a traditional Italian restaurant and indulge in their signature pasta dishes, followed by a delicate dessert! This is a taste of Italian culture I am looking forward to experiencing!
Sunday - Pink Tutu Milan Farewell
It's time to say arrivederci to beautiful Milan! I'll be catching the train back to my little corner of Derbyshire. However, the spirit of Milan, its ballet, and its fashion will be with me wherever I go. It’s time to turn my thoughts to the next ballet performance and plan for my next journey.
Here's to my next exciting adventure, wherever that may take me. Always remember, darlings: A pink tutu can take you anywhere, especially when you're ready to dream!
