Pink Tutu Milan: #1214 - Bonjour, Belissima Milano!

Wednesday, 2018-09-12

Hello my dearest Tutu-licious readers! It's Emma, your pink tutu-wearing ballerina extraordinaire, back with another fabulous instalment from the fashion-forward city of Milan! Oh, darling, you wouldn't believe what a whirlwind the last few days have been. I've been gliding around this vibrant city like a swan on a Parisian lake, my pink tutu swirling with every graceful step.

This week's journey began with a rather exhilarating ride on the Milan tram. I adore public transport, especially in cities as grand as Milan. The rattling of the tram, the whiff of freshly baked bread from the local bakery, and the friendly chatter of the locals - it's all so utterly charming!

I'm just bursting with excitement to share all the wonderful experiences I've had, from marveling at the architectural marvels like the Duomo, a building so stunning it makes my head spin, to soaking in the artistic atmosphere at the Pinacoteca di Brera - an art gallery filled with masterpieces that make me want to paint a thousand tutus!

From Theatre to Street: Milan's Ballet Beat

This past weekend, Milan pulsated with the rhythm of dance! My schedule was jam-packed with an array of thrilling ballet performances. First up was a breath-taking street ballet performance at the Piazza della Scala, right in the heart of the city. The energy was electrifying - young dancers, radiating passion, twirled and leaped in the setting sun. It was a vibrant, street art ballet piece with the Duomo standing proud as a majestic backdrop. Honestly, the way these dancers moved, the way their tutus flowed, it was simply magical.

Of course, no trip to Milan would be complete without a visit to the Teatro alla Scala, the iconic opera house. I slipped into a dazzling ruby red gown for the evening, pairing it with, naturally, my signature pink tutu. It was a night to remember. The performance of "Swan Lake" left me completely mesmerized, the artistry of the dancers, the captivating music, the exquisite costumes - I'd be a liar if I said my eyes were dry at the end!

I find that even when the ballet performances aren't strictly "ballet", there is always a whimsical charm that flows through the entire city, turning each street into a stage, and every passerby into a potential dance partner!

The Milanese Tutu Whisperer: My Pink Tutu Campaign

Oh my darlings, my quest to inspire the world to wear a pink tutu is gaining momentum in this incredible city. Let me tell you, I've been witnessing quite a few pink tutu whispers on the streets of Milan. My aim is not to make everyone dress identically, but to embrace the freedom and joy of self-expression. There's something magical about twirling in a pink tutu, don't you agree? It's a statement, an expression of pure delight and individuality!

And speaking of joy, I am simply in love with the charming cafes and bakeries that grace the streets of Milan. Every corner you turn, you discover a new, tempting treat – be it fragrant coffee, delicate macarons, or those heavenly Italian pastries that melt in your mouth! It's all a symphony of deliciousness. And don't get me started on the gelato - a creamy masterpiece I savour at least twice a day!

Fashion, Fashion, Fabulous: Shopping in Milan

Now, you know how much I love shopping, and Milan is a veritable paradise for any fashion enthusiast. It's a melting pot of creativity, where the world's most esteemed designers showcase their exquisite collections. The vibrant boutiques on the Via Monte Napoleone, each a piece of architectural beauty, are a visual treat for my sartorial soul. Every window display is a work of art, begging to be explored, each garment a tiny masterpiece.

Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of attending a dazzling fashion show at a top Milanese atelier. My goodness, the garments! Every dress, each creation was an absolute work of art - flowing fabrics, intricate embroidery, dazzling colour palettes. The models, strutting the runway in their breathtaking creations, looked like they were gliding across a catwalk in a fairy tale!

This week, I treated myself to a little sartorial treat in the form of a beautifully designed, silk scarf - with a delicate pink rose motif. My heart flutters whenever I look at it! The intricate patterns and textures of the silk, the delicate shimmer... it's a piece of elegance I'll treasure for a lifetime.

Milan: Where Every Day is a Fashion Show

The people here in Milan are truly stylish! The effortless chic, the perfect tailoring, the exquisite accessories – Milan is truly a haven for fashion lovers like me. Every day feels like a fashion show, and I’m savoring every stylish moment of it.

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. I've filled my time with endless fashion, ballet, delicious food, and, of course, some absolutely delightful pink tutu moments.

A Pink Tutu Thought: Embrace the Unconventional

As I sit here sipping my cappuccino and reminiscing over my whirlwind week in Milan, I can't help but ponder the sheer beauty and excitement that this city holds. It's a city that embraces both the traditional and the modern, the opulent and the eccentric.

For me, that's a lesson worth cherishing. It’s a reminder to never shy away from embracing the unconventional. Just like a pink tutu – a delightful reminder to stand out, embrace joy, and make our mark on the world!

So, darlings, take a leap, try something new, and wear your own version of pink. You'll find it's not just a colour but a feeling - a feeling of freedom, creativity, and pure joy!

Until next Monday, dear friends, may your tutus swirl with elegance, your steps dance with joy, and your days be filled with sparkling pink-tutu moments!

Bisous from Milan, Emma xx
