Pink Tutu Milan: Post #1215 - Wednesday 19th September 2018 - Where Ballet Dreams Take Flight! 🩰🇮🇹

Ciao Bella! It’s your girl Emma, the Pink Tutu Queen, back from Milan with a whole load of glittery magic to sprinkle into your lives! 💫 This week I've been prancing around the streets of Milan, embracing the vibrancy of this incredible city and getting lost in the magic of its ballet scene. It's a real dream come true! 💖

Milan, my darlings, is simply overflowing with a chic charm. The cobbled streets are lined with gorgeous shops, each window overflowing with fabulous fashion, the kind that makes your heart flutter like a ballerina in a beautiful arabesque. I'm a bit obsessed with Italian style, honestly, the flair for fashion here is undeniable! 😍 And even better, Milan has a ballet scene that truly captures my soul!

You know, this week was super exciting because I finally made my way to the Teatro alla Scala! If you haven't heard of it, it’s like the Buckingham Palace of ballet – a legendary, beautifully ornate opera house, oozing history from every creaking floorboard. Just getting to stand outside, surrounded by those ancient, weathered stones, is like touching a piece of the ballet world's soul! It's definitely given me some serious inspiration!

I spent a whole afternoon simply marvelling at the beautiful details. The magnificent arches, the glittering gold chandeliers that shimmer like a million tiny stars, the plush, velvety red seats that promise pure enjoyment, it was simply breathtaking! Honestly, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most iconic opera houses in the world. You could practically feel the energy of a hundred years of dancing in the air!

My big discovery this week though was La Scala’s* Ballet Academy*! I was just so lucky, I managed to sneak a peek inside, and boy oh boy, it's everything a little dancer could ever wish for! It was simply bursting with potential, all those young dancers pushing themselves, honing their skills. I felt that familiar thrill in my heart - a touch of that fierce passion and pure joy that you only get in a ballet studio.

My pink tutu and I had a real ball exploring the area too, because you know how much I love me some street performances! We bumped into a fabulous bunch of dancers from The Street Art Festival, showcasing their dazzling talent on a makeshift stage by the Duomo. Watching them work their magic on that concrete canvas was so inspiring - pure, unfiltered expression of dance! ✨

But let's talk fashion!

Because this is Milan, darling, fashion is more than just clothes, it’s a whole vibe, a lifestyle. It’s all around you - the architecture, the art, the cafes... even the way people walk! It’s so infectious! It made me want to get all dressed up, all the time! And as luck would have it, my little pink tutu just happened to find a brand new home amongst the glamour of Via Montenapoleone. This luxurious street is like stepping into a fairytale for fashion lovers, where the mannequins wear exquisite garments like royal princes and princesses, and you just can’t help but get lost in the enchantment of it all.

Of course, a pink tutu girl like me just had to pop into one of Milan’s charming independent stores too. And oh, the vintage treasures I unearthed! This sweet shop called Via Ponte Vecchio was full of retro glamour – delicate lace gloves, shimmery silk scarves, sparkling brooches – all calling out to me with the promise of transforming me into a vintage icon! 💎

The whole shopping experience was such a blast! You can imagine, I'm totally hooked! It’s so different to the ballet shops I’m used to back in Derbyshire. Everything about Milan, about the fashion scene here, makes you feel glamorous, chic, and just…powerful. That’s what I love about this place. It makes you feel like you can accomplish anything.

I was in a total fairy tale mood, which meant, of course, I had to check out the beautiful Duomo di Milano. It’s a masterpiece! Honestly, those delicate spires, it was almost like seeing a dream take shape in real life. The way the light bounced off the marble, it was simply magical! 💖

But don't just take my word for it! Check out the pictures, all captured on my pink phone – a trusty travel companion. My photos are practically art at this point, thanks to my new Instagram followers from all over the world, spreading the love for the #PinkTutuMilan vibes! 😍 So let’s keep spreading the joy – the more, the merrier! Just #PinkTutuMilan for all your Italian inspiration! 💖

Oh, and did I mention that my pink tutu met up with some of the most incredible Italian ballerinas? And guess what? We actually even danced together! It’s all going to be part of my vlog, a very special #PinkTutuMilan vlog that you simply must catch, with all the behind-the-scenes moments, fashion, food, and oh, those dances! 🥰 Get ready, this is just the beginning, the story's just starting!

You know what, darlings?

We’ve been to the Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Opera, the Bolchoi, the Marinsky….we've had all the gorgeous, glamorous theatre experiences we could wish for, and every single one is just magical.

But you know what makes me happiest? It’s that everyday feeling you get when you see a little girl on her first day at a ballet class, holding her tiny, beautiful shoes, looking up at the teacher with eyes full of wonder.

Because those tiny shoes are magic shoes. They can take you to the most beautiful, enchanting places you could ever imagine! And sometimes, all it takes is just one small pink tutu, to unlock a world of magic, dreams and possibilities! 💕

Keep dancing my lovelies! 💕 And don’t forget - you’ll always find me spreading the joy with my pink tutu - whether I’m in Derbyshire, London, Milan, or beyond! 🌎 💖
