Pink Tutu Milan - #1252 - 2019-06-05
Ciao bella! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means – time for another Pink Tutu Milan blog post! I'm so excited to be sharing my Milan adventures with you all this week.
Back in Milano - and My Heart is Leaping!
As the familiar hum of the Milanese trams lulled me into a state of pure bliss, I realised just how much I missed this city. I love the buzz, the chic energy, the beautiful buildings, and of course, the amazing ballet scene. Milan never fails to inspire me, both as a dancer and as a fashion enthusiast.
This week, my itinerary is jam-packed. From exploring the iconic Teatro alla Scala to taking a ballet class in the heart of Brera, I'm fully immersing myself in the magical world of dance. And let's not forget about all the incredible fashion – I’m dying to get my hands on a few new pieces to add to my collection!
My Week in a Pink Tutu
The moment I arrived at my charming hotel room (with its lovely pink bed linen – how could I not be charmed?!), I had to whip out my trusty pink tutu and twirl for a little. The sun was streaming through the window, casting the most flattering light on my beloved tutu, making me feel like a ballerina doll come to life.
And trust me, my week has been packed with tutu-tastic moments!
Sunday – Sunday at Teatro alla Scala – La Bohème - I can't help it – my heart leaps every time I set foot inside this breathtaking theatre. La Bohème is such a classic, and I'm still feeling all the emotions. The passion, the sorrow, the love - it was truly captivating. I have to say, the ballet dancers stole the show for me.
Monday – Street Performances This city is bursting with creativity! I had a fabulous time watching a young troupe of street dancers performing an incredible mix of contemporary and hip-hop. They were full of energy, with fantastic costumes and incredible moves. There's no denying the power of ballet in a street setting - it really connects you to the pulse of the city.
Tuesday – Shopping Therapy and Aperitivo I did some much needed clothes shopping today, browsing some vintage boutiques and then treating myself to an aperitivo. Nothing quite beats Italian food, especially when accompanied by good wine, lively conversations, and a little Pink Tutu flair.
Milan – A Fashion Haven
Milan is undoubtedly a paradise for fashionistas. I’ve had so much fun just browsing the stylish window displays of Milan's luxury boutiques, with their eye-catching colours, patterns, and cuts, all whispering stories of sophistication and elegance.
Of course, I had to treat myself to a few goodies – a vintage Dior scarf with delicate floral prints, a sleek leather clutch with gold accents, and a beautiful pair of cherry-red shoes – they’re just so Italian!
Sharing the Tutu Love
Now, back to the pink tutu! I spotted a delightful group of children taking a ballet class in the Piazza della Scala. So I went up to them and started dancing along, just for fun. And you know what? Those children were so excited! One of the little girls, wearing a pink tutu just like mine, told me she'd always dreamt of becoming a ballerina, and that she adored the colour pink.
That encounter made my day. Seeing their excitement reminded me that ballet, and the magic of wearing a pink tutu, is a beautiful way to connect people across ages and backgrounds. I'm not saying everyone needs to wear a pink tutu, but I believe in the power of embracing colour, expression, and joyful movement.
Follow the Pink Tutu Trail
This week in Milan has been full of inspiration, colour, and of course, twirling. If you are ever in Milan, be sure to follow the Pink Tutu Trail: take a stroll through the vibrant streets of Brera, where you’ll find quirky boutiques and hidden gems, enjoy a cup of coffee in the heart of the Piazza della Scala, soak up the ambiance of the Teatro alla Scala and watch an amazing performance, and if you have a moment, visit a local bakery and treat yourself to some mouth-watering pastry, it’s truly delicious.
Keep following my adventures on Pink-tutu.com! And remember, even if you don’t have a pink tutu, why not wear your own colours of happiness and spread your own unique flair! Until next Wednesday, keep on dancing and twirling!
Ciao for now, from Milan!
