Pink Tutu Milan: #1269 - 2019-10-02 - Oh La La, Milan!
Buongiorno, my darling dears! It's Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel blogger, bringing you another dose of chic from the magical streets of Milan. I'm typing this while perched on the most exquisite pink velvet armchair in my hotel room, a steaming cup of cappuccino by my side, and yes, my very own pink tutu hanging elegantly on the wardrobe door - you can't escape the tutu, can you?
From Derbyshire to Milan, One Pink Tutu at a Time
Now, before we dive headfirst into the world of Milanese glamour, I just wanted to give you a little update on my journey. After another exhilarating performance back home in Derbyshire, my bank account swelled with enough pennies to fuel a flight to this Italian fashion paradise. I may be a ballerina by trade, but travel is my passion, and combining the two - oh, the sheer joy!
This time, my adventures in Milan are themed around the iconic La Scala Opera House. Now, this isn't your average theatre, my loves! La Scala is legendary - think breathtaking architecture, the most incredible acoustics you'll ever encounter, and a history so rich it makes my head spin! And the ballet performances - let me tell you, the dancers move with such grace and elegance that it truly takes your breath away. It's almost enough to make me want to abandon my own tutu for the night and lose myself in their enchanting performance! Almost!
Pink Tutu Diaries - A Day in Milan
So, yesterday was a whirlwind of Milanese loveliness, all perfectly documented on my Instagram of course! After a perfectly executed croissant breakfast at the cutest little café by my hotel, I hopped on the tram - it's my favourite way to explore a city, you get to see the true rhythm of life.
The tram took me straight to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Oh, this place is a sight for sore eyes! Imagine an architectural masterpiece with beautiful shops, buzzing with shoppers, all beneath a magnificent glass ceiling that bathes the space in a dazzling light. It's like stepping into a fairytale, I swear! My darling pink tutu was perfectly at home among all that high fashion.
Finding the Perfect Dress
I wouldn't be a proper fashion blogger without a little retail therapy, wouldn't I? The first stop was Max Mara, their flagship store in Milan is absolutely stunning, with luxurious clothes that could rival any fairy godmother's wardrobe! You could almost hear the fashion fairies whisper secrets as I walked past those rows of silk gowns. The problem is, dear friends, nothing quite fit my pink tutu - it seems those exquisite dresses couldn't compete with my pink, fluffy masterpiece. I couldn't go against my true pink-tutu fashion credo!
Fashion Under the Tuscan Sun
On a whim, I decided to try something a bit more vintage. And that's when I stumbled across this incredible little vintage shop hidden away on a side street. Imagine walls crammed with gorgeous garments, from exquisite floral-printed frocks to stylish, sassy 50s-inspired dresses. It was a dream come true! In the end, I found the most beautiful, flowy blue sundress, perfect for my walk to Teatro alla Scala, the grand opera house. My trusty pink tutu made a guest appearance, too, you wouldn't catch me wearing any other outfit for such a special occasion!
Opera Dreams and Dancing Stars
Stepping into La Scala is like being transported to a bygone era. I had a lovely chat with a local gentleman in the grand foyer who told me all about the famous operas that had graced this stage over the years. I must say, his stories were as fascinating as the opulent interior itself!
The evening performance, a beautiful ballet featuring Tchaikovsky's timeless Swan Lake, left me mesmerised. I just wanted to join the dancers, gracefully glide across that stage in my very own pink tutu and lose myself in the music! But alas, real-life was calling!
Back to the Hotel - Reflections in Pink
As the night drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the magic of Milan, the thrill of seeing such extraordinary talent and the pure delight of exploring a city steeped in art and history. I realised my mission, darling dears, my purpose in life!
Spread the Tutu Love!
My mission? To make everyone wear a pink tutu, from the cobblestone streets of Milan to the bustling boulevards of New York. Why? Because the tutu is not just a costume; it's a symbol of grace, beauty, and a sprinkle of whimsical magic that can turn any day into an extraordinary adventure! It's about embracing the little bit of the ballerina in all of us! So, get ready to embrace the tutu revolution, my friends. I have a feeling we're only just getting started.
This is Pink Tutu Milan, and this is my story, and I hope it inspires you to embrace your inner pink tutu, no matter where your adventures take you!
