Pink Tutu Milan - Wednesday 2020-06-24: Ballet, Aperitivi, and a Pink Tutu Revelation!

Hello my gorgeous ballet bunnies! It’s Emma here, bringing you another delightful instalment of my Pink Tutu Milan adventures. It's a Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful blog post on www.pink-tutu.com - this one being a particularly exciting entry for yours truly, post number 1307! This week I’m buzzing from exploring the vibrant cultural scene in this gorgeous city. As always, my faithful pink tutu is by my side, twirling through the cobbled streets of Milan. Let's dive in, shall we?

Milan by Tram, and the Joy of Street Ballet

My morning started with a charming tram journey. I'm becoming a bit of a tram enthusiast, you know? They're such a fun and practical way to see the city. This morning, I was particularly charmed by the vintage tram I boarded – imagine, bright red, all polished up with that gorgeous old-world charm! And to make it even more magical, a street performer decided to serenade us with some beautiful classical music! Talk about adding a touch of grace and elegance to my journey. It almost felt like a scene from a ballet, a beautiful symphony unfolding on a sunny Milanese day!

Back to Basics: Ballet Class with a Twist

Feeling inspired, I made my way to my ballet class, nestled in a lovely studio in the heart of the city. Now, while I always embrace the grace of classical ballet, today's class had a wonderful twist – ballet barre with a dash of barre-inspired fitness. This was an absolutely thrilling experience! My inner dancer rejoiced at the intricate movements, while the added focus on strengthening made my muscles sing!

Fun Fact! The beautiful Milanese studio had a display of lovely ballerina figures with shimmering pink tutus! My heart just melted - I mean, you can't go wrong with a good dollop of pink, can you?

A Glittering Performance and the Thrill of the Stage

This evening, I’m going to see "Giselle," a classic ballet that has always captured my imagination! And the excitement is already bubbling over! The thrill of attending a live performance, watching the breathtaking talent and dedication of the dancers - it's just a joy that's beyond words! As always, I'll be dressing up for the occasion – you guessed it, my signature pink tutu paired with a dazzling accessory.

I truly adore seeing these fantastic ballets. I know many people might be surprised to learn that I fund my travel through my performances. It’s not easy – lots of rehearsals and late nights – but every opportunity to grace the stage with my own dance feels magical.

Little Pink Tutu Tip: If you are thinking of seeing "Giselle," try to get to the theatre at least 30 minutes before the performance begins. It’s the perfect time to mingle with other ballet enthusiasts and maybe even spot some lovely fashion!

Aperitivi & Pink Tutu Observations

Milan, as many of you already know, is renowned for its aperitivi - a truly Italian tradition of enjoying a drink and a little something to nibble at a bar before dinner. It's a wonderful opportunity to mingle, soak up the vibrant atmosphere and, of course, admire the Milanese style.

My observations? Pink is definitely having a moment in Milan! I spotted so many gorgeous pastel pink handbags and dresses around the city. And speaking of style, you can't forget the glamorous ladies and gentlemen who truly embody the Italian fashion scene! I have to admit, seeing all the fabulous outfits just gives me extra motivation for my own little wardrobe ventures!

Pink Tutu Tip: My top tip for enjoying the best of aperitivi is to go to a bar in the heart of Navigli – a lovely canal district brimming with life. Try sipping a classic Campari and soda while admiring the stunning canal scene!

The Power of Pink

A few of you have asked about the “wear a pink tutu” movement, and I am thrilled to share that it’s catching on! I get so many messages from readers all over the world about their pink tutu journeys! Just last week I received a beautiful note from a reader in Derbyshire (hello home!), who started her own little "Pink Tutu for a Day" charity event! She’s raising money for local children's charities. Honestly, these stories inspire me to keep spreading the pink tutu love!

My latest Pink Tutu Inspiration: A wonderful couple told me their sweet story – they met at a ballet class and are now celebrating their wedding anniversary! How lovely is that?! The wife told me that she wore a stunning pink tutu to their engagement photoshoot and felt incredibly radiant and happy.

I’m really believing that this movement isn't just about tutus – it’s about feeling happy, feeling empowered, feeling connected. We need to share the world’s glitter – that’s my motto.

Milanese Inspiration

Milan is brimming with artistic inspiration. This afternoon I visited the Fondazione Prada – an incredible contemporary art gallery! And you guessed it – a touch of pink! I spied some brilliant installations by artists exploring a modern take on fashion and beauty!

The artwork inspired me, especially one that incorporated light, texture, and shape in a beautiful, whimsical way, creating an atmosphere of magic and creativity – a bit like my own pink tutu adventures!

More Fashion, More Fun

My week is coming to an end, but I promise you - my pink tutu adventures are just beginning! Stay tuned, because I have so many exciting stories planned for you! Next week, I'll be exploring some hidden corners of Milan's enchanting fashion scene. There are so many fabulous vintage boutiques and designer ateliers to discover! And I’ll be taking a ballet class in a charming open-air space!

A Final Pink Tutu Thought: You never know what awaits around the next corner. But remember, no matter where you are in the world, always carry a little bit of sparkle – and who knows? Maybe you'll be inspired to put on a pink tutu and dance to the beat of your own heart!

Ciao bella!
