Pink Tutu Milan: Post #1328 - A Whirlwind Wednesday in Milan

Hello lovelies! 🩰

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind Wednesday in Milan, ready to spill the tea on all things pink, pretty and positively fabulous. This week's adventures have left me buzzing with inspiration, so grab your favourite pink beverage, pull on your comfiest tutu and settle in for a proper girly gossip.

As you know, Monday to Friday I'm a tutu-wearing wonder, bringing a sprinkle of whimsy to every corner of the world - but it's here in Milan that my heart truly dances! It's been an extraordinary week of fabulous shows, fabulous shops and fabulous friends. So, where did this week's adventures take us, you ask? Buckle up, darlings, this is going to be a pink-tastic journey...

The Magic of the Tram

It all started with the gentle rattle and sway of a Milanese tram, a journey that always brings with it a sense of quiet anticipation. Something about the rhythm of the tracks and the view flitting by my window just makes my creative juices start flowing.

I had to wear my latest tulle tutu creation, the "Sunrise in Milan," a vision in coral pink and shimmering gold. This creation sparkled in the afternoon sun like a kaleidoscope of light and joy. Even the pigeons on the pavement seemed to give me an admiring coo - the power of a good pink tutu, I tell you!

A Ballet Boutique Bonanza

From the tram, I made my way to my favourite little shop, a true haven of ballerina beauty - the one and only "Giselle's Garments." Now, I may be a tutu fanatic but I must say, Giselle really has her finger on the pulse. This shop has all things beautiful - think floaty skirts, silky leotards and exquisite shoes. It's truly a fairytale world for any tutu-loving lass!

I came across the most divine ballet slipper - the perfect pale pink to complement my "Sunrise" tutu, and naturally, it was mine! And because my love for shopping is an addiction that needs careful management, I restrained myself from taking more than a silk scarf with an elegant pink ballet motif. A little pink ribbon for the hair is what my current budget allows for, but I'll be sure to return soon to browse those shimmering shoes!

A Night at The Opera

This evening, however, my journey took on a whole different level of drama and spectacle. I donned my grandest tulle tutu for an evening at La Scala - the majestic Teatro alla Scala, a theatre that embodies the essence of Italian elegance and artistic passion. This week, we were treating ourselves to the world-renowned production of "La Traviata" - and believe me, it was a masterpiece. The music soared, the costumes were lavish and the performers simply divine. The entire evening transported me to another world, one where music was the language and beauty was the only reality.

Now, to say this evening was enchanting is an understatement. Every single moment, from the red-velvet seating to the hushed anticipation before the curtain rose, was just perfect. And it was all brought to life by the remarkable talent and passion of the singers and dancers.

Later, as I journeyed back home, the memory of those beautiful songs and the haunting grace of the dancers stayed with me like a comforting lullaby. I am grateful for the experience, it was one that I'll cherish for a lifetime.

A Parisian Interlude

I know what you are thinking - "Isn't Milan your happy place, Emma?". But it's not every day that I get to take a trip across the Alps to visit my friend Juliette. The beauty of being a ballet dancer and travelling the world with my art, I get to share my love of ballet with others in amazing new places. And a few weeks ago I found the perfect excuse for a quick hop to Paris!

I've mentioned before my good friend, Juliette, a fellow tutu enthusiast. Now, Juliette is everything you imagine a Parisian to be - chic, stylish and utterly captivating. And just as she brought me the delights of her city, I was determined to share my favourite moments in Milan with her. But when you combine Parisian style and Italian art - what else could it be, but a wonderful trip?

She is a seasoned Paris-style designer - just think - Chanel meets Parisian vintage boutique - you can see how much we are already a fantastic team!

Ballet Lessons

We did the traditional things tourists do, you know, climbed the Eiffel Tower, gazed at the Mona Lisa, that sort of thing - but also explored the streets off the beaten path. It's these moments of discovery, when you wander into a cute little café or a hidden courtyard, that make my soul sing!

Now, one of my favourite parts of our time together was taking a ballet class at the 'Ballet Académie' in the heart of Paris. The studio had high ceilings, big windows and a wonderful energy that buzzed with joy and creative expression. Juliette is a dancer, although her style is a little more edgy, we got some fun, tutu-tastic photos - she loves pink tutus too!

I took a few lessons at the school to experience this new studio. It has this special feel that was not something that I was expecting, and it brought me joy and some new inspiration for future performances - what I find so fascinating about ballet is its ever-changing, evolving nature - it's all about movement, passion, and expression. And there's no right way to dance, the only way is to move with joy, and to let the tutu carry you away!

Fashion Show at Gucci

Talking about joy, can we discuss the "Gucci" show. A spectacular performance and so much pink! The energy of this fabulous Italian fashion house really blew me away! It had that touch of Italian chic and glam with modern influences. This really is what fashion should be - all about creativity and innovation. They even had models in pink tutus (even though it was a fashion show not ballet - it's all in the pink tutu you know, it all ties together!). The colours and textures of their designs were mind-blowing, the models wore their latest pieces with a grace and elegance that made the whole thing a beautiful visual feast. And, a little birdie told me the creative director had an eye on me. It's definitely worth a look at their online collection for inspiration.

Now, I'm getting my creative juices flowing with a great new pink tulle combination. So now I need to figure out my new signature. What does "pink tutu" mean to you? I'm ready for all your ideas!

A Message for Every Girl and Girl at Heart

As always, lovelies, thank you for joining me on another fabulous adventure. Remember, the power of a pink tutu lies in the heart. So put on your brightest pink tutu and spin your way to happiness. Until next week, stay fabulous, lovelies!

Love always, Emma.
