Pink Tutu Milan: Wednesday 2021-02-03 - Ballet Bliss in the City of Style! 🩰💖🇮🇹

Hello darlings!

Welcome back to Pink Tutu Milan, your weekly dose of fashion, ballet, and all things pink! Today’s blog is extra special because I’m in the beautiful city of Milan, Italy! My heart is filled with joy and inspiration, ready to share with you all the fabulous things I’ve seen and experienced. So, settle in with a cup of something lovely, and let’s dive into my Milan adventure!

This week, I thought I’d focus on the power of fashion and ballet to bring people together. 👠✨ As a Derbyshire girl at heart, I often get asked about my love of the colour pink – "It's such a girly colour! You are so feminine!" Well, I believe pink is more than just a colour. It's a symbol of joy, femininity, and empowerment!

I've seen firsthand how pink tutus can create a community of like-minded women. In Milan, I stumbled across a lovely boutique full of tutus of every shade of pink imaginable. It was like walking into a fairytale, surrounded by layers of tulle and sequins, each one prettier than the last. 💖

I bought myself a beautiful dusky rose pink tutu - it’s just divine! It was so much fun dancing in it, and I knew I had to get it! The sales assistant even said to me, "This tutu is truly a dream, it will be a masterpiece on you!" and you know what, I believe her! 😊

And the beauty of it all is that I bought it from my performance earnings. I have performed at a lovely local event last week, dancing my heart out, all for the pleasure of making people happy! Being able to fund my travel and love of all things fabulous like that pink tutu from performing is the absolute dream! 🌸✨

Anyway, enough about pink tutus (for now)! My Italian adventure started a few days ago, with a leisurely train journey from Turin. You know I love to travel by train – there’s something so romantic about watching the world fly past the window, and it’s a brilliant chance to think and write in peace.

But Milan itself – oh my! The city has it all, from breathtaking architecture to world-class shopping and, of course, a rich ballet history! It's no wonder this fashion-forward city attracts creatives from around the world.

On my "To Do" list this week I have so many things planned, but some of the highlights include:

  • La Scala – of course! This legendary opera house is a must-see for any ballet enthusiast. The grandeur and historical significance are simply breathtaking! You can feel the history seep into your soul when you enter. 🏛️🎭
  • Shopping! Milan is a shopping paradise! Designer boutiques, independent shops, and trendy markets – I can't wait to get lost in the world of Italian fashion and pick up some statement pieces! ✨
  • The Brera Art Gallery – this renowned art gallery showcases masterpieces from some of the world's most celebrated artists. I can’t wait to see beautiful artwork and soak up all that culture. 🎨🖼️
  • The Milan Duomo – A symbol of Milan, this Gothic cathedral is awe-inspiring. I plan to wander around and just be amazed.
  • Ballet Performance: On the topic of dance, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow are touring and I'm going to the Teatro degli Arcimboldi for "Swan Lake". A real treat!
  • Milan’s Ballet School: There are many wonderful dance studios in Milan and I can’t wait to explore and have a few classes, take in the atmosphere and meet the dance community here!
  • A Delicious Meal at a Local Trattoria – This wouldn't be a proper Italian experience without sampling the delicious local cuisine. I’ve heard there is a great little trattoria on the Piazza Mercanti. I’m so excited to eat fresh pasta, pizza, and gelato – a must for every visit! 🇮🇹😋

My Daily Pink Tutu Moment:

Yesterday was just incredible – I had my first "Pink Tutu Moment" in Milan! It was my second day here and I went to a café called “Pasticceria Cova" - and I must say, it's not your average coffee shop. The atmosphere is enchanting, with ornate décor, decadent pastries and a gentle aroma of coffee beans. As I savoured my delicious latte (in the iconic porcelain cup), I couldn’t resist putting on my new dusky pink tutu for the afternoon! It was simply magical. I just had to stop and pose for a photo – for a moment, I felt like a ballerina from another era. ✨💃 You can see it on my Instagram if you want to!

My Milan Adventures

Every corner of Milan is filled with breathtaking views, intricate architecture, and the undeniable magic of the city. Walking around, taking in all the sights, I just feel so inspired. It feels like I am truly in my element here, in a city that celebrates artistry and beauty in all its forms.

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love:

While exploring the city, I was inspired by the elegant styles of the Milanese ladies. From the beautiful and bold women with sharp tailoring and heels to the women in the streets with a more casual aesthetic. However, there is definitely an appreciation for elegance and an effortlessness to how people present themselves in this city. My mission is to inspire everyone to embrace the Pink Tutu spirit – even in Milan! 😊

My blog, as many of you know, is all about sharing my love for dance, pink, and fashion! But even more than that, it is about building a global community of women who celebrate creativity, self-expression, and above all, having fun! If you are reading this, you are part of that community! 💕

This trip has been amazing! My journal is already overflowing with inspiration for new blog posts. Every day has brought something unique and amazing!

You can stay updated on all my adventures and follow me on @PinkTutuMilan on Instagram, and be sure to join the Pink Tutu Community by commenting on my latest photos! I’d love to see you!

I’ll be back next week with more pink tutu fun from Milan. Until then, let’s dance!

Lots of Love,

Emma
