Pink Tutu Milan: Post 1350 – La Dolce Vita with a Pink Tutu Twist! 🩰💖🇮🇹

Ciao, darlings!

It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world, Milan! As the saying goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”, so naturally, I’m embracing every bit of La Dolce Vita – with a splash of pink, of course!

This week, I’m waltzing through Milan like a ballerina on air, soaking in the sights, sounds, and – oh my – the shopping! The city’s buzz is contagious, a symphony of chic street style, delectable pastries, and captivating architecture. Even the trams, my favourite mode of transportation (especially with a view from the window as good as this!), seem to dance to the city’s unique rhythm.

But before we get swept away by Milanese glamour, let’s rewind a little.

Remember last week when I mentioned The Bolshoi Ballet performance I’d be attending? Well, let me tell you, it was an experience fit for a ballerina's dreams. The Teatro alla Scala was truly majestic, the air thick with anticipation as the audience settled in. Then, the lights dimmed, the orchestra struck the first chord, and the magic unfolded before my eyes.

The Bolshoi dancers were simply stunning. Every graceful movement, every pirouette and jeté, every perfectly timed leap was a masterpiece of athleticism and artistry. The ballet was a story brought to life, a whirlwind of emotions expressed through elegant choreography and stunning costumes. I was swept away, my heart overflowing with appreciation for this incredible art form. It’s moments like these that truly remind me why I live, breathe, and, yes, twirl in my pink tutu. 💖

Speaking of twirling… guess who took a ballet class while in Milan? Yep, this gal! Now, I can’t divulge too much about my class – secrecy is essential when you’re perfecting your fouetté turns, right? – but let me just say it was a fantastic experience, surrounded by talented and inspiring ballerinas of all ages. I even spotted a few cheeky Milanese gentleman who couldn't help but gawk at our graceful moves, a testament to the timeless allure of ballet, I’d say!

Now, on to the juicy details – the part you’ve all been waiting for, the fashion and shopping galore! Milan, you’re a paradise for shopaholics like me, a whirlwind of designer boutiques, vibrant street markets, and hidden vintage gems. This week, my mission was simple: find a new pink tutu worthy of this fabulous city! I am a firm believer in having at least 12 tutus – after all, variety is the spice of life – and Milan, bless its fashion-forward heart, definitely delivered.

After perusing the ateliers and galleries along Via della Spiga, a haven for high fashion, I made my way to the bustling Mercato Centrale. This food paradise doubles as a vintage treasure trove, with racks upon racks of unique finds. Now, let’s be real – vintage shopping can be like searching for a needle in a haystack – but the reward? Worth every rummage. And indeed, I did stumble upon my prize, a dusty yet exquisite tutu – a soft shade of pale pink, just perfect for that Parisian café photoshoot.

Don’t think I’ve been slacking on the food scene, darling. A true gourmand at heart, I’ve been sampling the city’s culinary delights, from the traditional Risotto alla Milanese – perfectly creamy and oh so satisfying – to the fresh, light Caprese salad made with plump, juicy tomatoes and vibrant mozzarella. And of course, I’ve indulged in my fair share of Gelato – what trip to Italy is complete without it?

With a belly full of deliciousness and a wardrobe bursting with new finds (I couldn't resist those stylish Versace sunnies, after all, a girl’s gotta stay chic!), I’m taking a well-deserved pause at one of Milan’s charming cafes overlooking the picturesque Piazza del Duomo. I’m surrounded by the sweet aroma of freshly brewed espresso, the melody of locals chatting animatedly in Italian, and the magnificent view of the Duomo – it’s a postcard scene come to life.

But darling, the best part about being here in Milan? The sheer feeling of inspiration. I feel invigorated, my creative juices flowing, my imagination ablaze. As I soak in the energy of this magnificent city, I find myself brainstorming my next ballet performance – perhaps something daring and dynamic, a tribute to Milan’s vibrant spirit.

It’s not easy balancing my life between being a ballerina, a travel enthusiast, and a pink tutu evangelist – a constant juggling act of schedules, performances, and packing my luggage with my latest fashion finds. But there’s no place I’d rather be, no other adventure I’d rather be on, and no other colour I’d rather wear. It’s a pink-tinted world for me, my darlings, and Milan, you’ve certainly added a touch of glamour to it.

Till next week, when we’ll be exploring the charming alleys of Venice, my dears,

Emma xoxo
