Pink Tutu Milan: Ciao Bella! (Post #1370)

Hello my darling Tutu Tribe! 👋 It's Emma here, bringing you another dazzling dose of Pink Tutu magic, this time from the fashion capital of the world: Milano! 🇮🇹

Oh, my darlings, I just can't even express the sheer joy flooding through me as I type this. Milan, you've stolen my heart, and my credit card! 😉 I’ve got to say, this city really is something special, and that’s coming from a girl who loves nothing more than a perfectly pink tutu, a beautiful ballet performance and a glass of Prosecco! 🥂

This week’s trip to Milano was sparked by a divine invitation to the premiere of the “Romeo & Juliet” ballet at the Teatro alla Scala. This prestigious opera house is like a majestic palace, it's hard to imagine the magic contained inside that beautiful stone building, let alone the incredible artistry on display during the show. And don't even get me started on the gorgeous costumes! 😍

Of course, with a trip to Milan came the essential fashion expedition. You see, a little pink tutu girl simply can't resist a good window display, and darling, these shop windows in Milan are positively flamboyant! I've been scoffing up a few must-have new pieces, and I’ve even snagged a little tutu from the gorgeous shop, "Le Petit Tutu", a total pink princess paradise! 🎀 You wouldn't believe the sheer brilliance of the tulle they use!

Now, you may think a trip to Milan would mean jet-setting across the skies. Not your girl! This pink tutu queen loves a little old-world charm, and believe me, there’s no better way to see a city than by hopping aboard the local trams and trains. Imagine this - sunshine pouring through the window, the rhythmic clinking of the tracks, and the charming aroma of fresh croissants (from a local boulangerie, of course) drifting through the air… Ah, pure bliss! 😍

Now, about that show... sighs dreamily This production of Romeo and Juliet was truly a dream. I don't know if you know this, but I’ve been dancing since I was a tiny tot back in Derbyshire, so there's something truly magical about experiencing this classic love story brought to life with such power and beauty. I especially loved the iconic balcony scene - the passionate music, the swirling movements, and the sheer artistry of it all… bows deeply in awe. You truly have to see it to believe it. 💖

While we're talking about beauty, darling, let's talk about my outfits! You know I love a splash of pink, and in Milan, it just goes to another level! I'm wearing this gorgeous pink tulle skirt that's so fluffily, divinely feminine I simply can’t stop twirling. And I paired it with a shimmering, silky, baby pink top, with little sequins dancing across the fabric like stars. 💫 The finishing touch? A vintage, rose gold brooch in the shape of a delicate butterfly - you see, every little detail counts, darling! 😉

Milan is all about luxury and elegance, so of course, I treated myself to a decadent little slice of panna cotta from a café overlooking the iconic Duomo. This magnificent cathedral is truly a sight to behold - towering above the city with such awe-inspiring beauty. I sat in a corner seat with my sweet treat and watched the world go by, captivated by the endless flow of energy in this exciting city. ✨

Morning:

This morning I awoke in my little pink hotel room, overlooking the rooftops of Milan. I woke up early and stretched out on the big white duvet, and before I knew it, I was already getting ready for a day exploring the beautiful city.

First stop, breakfast! I ventured out onto the streets of Milan and headed straight for a cute cafe, “Bistrot la Bottega,” to sample their classic Italian cappuccino and fresh brioche. It's always so charming to see a cafe come alive in the morning - with baristas working their magic and locals gossiping and laughing. There’s a real buzz, you know?

Next up, it was off to the gorgeous shop "Le Petit Tutu"! My friends, I couldn't believe the beauty inside! Rows and rows of dainty tulle, exquisite designs, and all those dreamy, enchanting pink shades I could ever desire. 💫 It truly was a paradise for any tutu-loving princess, and I couldn't resist taking home a few treasures. (🤫 I won’t tell you how many!).

After a glorious time shopping in “Le Petit Tutu”, I knew I needed a little boost to prepare for the magnificent night ahead, so I strolled over to the Gucci store on Via Montenapoleone to soak up some seriously luxurious energy! You see, this street is where it's all at when it comes to exclusive Italian style.

Of course, I couldn’t help myself from slipping inside for a quick browse, just to check out what all the fuss was about, and my word! That Gucci store really is something else! A kaleidoscope of color and glamour, every single detail radiating pure extravagance and artistry. Even the door handles were shiny and new! 😂

It's actually a bit overwhelming! Even a little Pink Tutu Princess needs a quiet moment to recharge from all that excitement! So, after my luxury shopping escapade, I ventured into the serene Villa Necchi Campiglio. You may not have heard of this one, but darling, I urge you to look it up if you're ever in Milan! The house, it is absolutely stunning! From the stunning architectural details, to the beautiful interiors – there is a whisper of beauty in every nook and cranny. It's a true masterpiece and a real escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is honestly like stepping back in time!

Afternoon:

In the afternoon, my friends, it was time for a little afternoon pink tea! 🍰☕️ A proper afternoon tea in Milan, with dainty sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream (which are essential for my English soul!) and of course, endless cups of tea and delicious cake. I settled into a charming cafe called “Il Salotto” and savored every single bite!

Now, darlings, after a decadent afternoon tea, what is a Pink Tutu Princess to do? Why, explore the stunning city of Milan, of course! I hopped on a tram and followed a trail that led me to the city’s breathtaking Museo Poldi Pezzoli - a truly remarkable gallery. I’d read all about this place and was simply amazed by its exquisite collection of sculptures, paintings and antiques. Every room tells a different story, and every item feels imbued with such history! 💖

It was almost as if I was transported back in time to an elegant palace filled with the voices of emperors and princesses. 😍

Evening:

In the evening, I decided to explore a quieter area of the city with its charming lanes, and my oh my, this was such a beautiful discovery! The quiet ambiance was the perfect prelude to the evening’s special performance. 🤫

The highlight of the entire trip, the premiere of “Romeo & Juliet" at the Teatro alla Scala. Now darling, let's be honest, a real princess simply can't miss this kind of experience! 👑

Just as I imagined, this world-renowned opera house oozed pure beauty from every inch of its exterior. Marble, exquisite carvings, and beautiful sculptures — it really is a masterpiece of architecture! As I walked inside, my eyes were instantly drawn to the grand chandeliers cascading down, and the velvet-draped seats – this place had such an elegant ambiance, a blend of timeless classic style and just the right amount of grandeur! I just couldn’t help but feel enchanted. 💖

Now, I know many of you love ballet as much as I do, so you'll just have to take my word for it: this production of Romeo and Juliet was a pure delight. A whirlwind of emotion and passionate dance! The iconic balcony scene was unforgettable, every move conveying such powerful feelings. This really is a performance you'll remember forever!

And let’s not forget the exquisite costumes! I’m sure you all know the story of Romeo and Juliet, but it was such a beautiful and inspiring take on it, bringing every emotional twist and turn to life in such an engaging way. 💖

The way the dancers move, so gracefully yet powerful, it’s simply inspiring. It's this passion, this commitment, that truly takes this art form to another level. 💫

The highlight of the entire evening, however, was the incredible atmosphere! This room was electric with the joy and excitement of being immersed in the storytelling of such a celebrated show, which had everyone on the edge of their seats, even as the final bows came! You could really feel the love, the artistry, the passion that goes into making it all happen! 💕

Afterwards, we headed out for a truly magnificent dinner to really celebrate the evening. Milan, oh Milan! You really know how to create a magical atmosphere, my darlings! As I nibbled on exquisite Italian delicacies (that cheese and cured meats, they were something else!), I just knew that Milan had truly stolen my heart! The atmosphere was pure joy. 💖

The evening ended with a glass of heavenly Italian prosecco under a clear sky. A perfect ending to an unforgettable day. 💖

And so, as I type this, from the comfort of my hotel room in Milan, I am already dreaming about my next visit. This enchanting city will forever hold a special place in my heart – not just because of its beautiful buildings, stunning fashion and exceptional food, but for the opportunity to share in the art and magic of the world. 💖
