This week in Milan, I feel like I’ve stepped right into a fairy tale! This incredible city has so much charm - and you know I'm always up for some extra charm. The architecture here is exquisite, the people are stylish, and there’s this infectious energy in the air! You can almost feel the magic in Milan, especially when the sun hits the spires and arches of the Duomo - just stunning!

Wednesday: Stepping into Elegance at the Teatro alla Scala
As a true ballet devotee, my heart skipped a beat when I walked into the legendary Teatro alla Scala! The sheer grandeur of it all! It's like walking into a golden palace! Today’s performance was “Swan Lake” by the illustrious Teatro alla Scala ballet company.
You see, ballet and I, we go way back - I’ve been twirling in tutus since I could toddle. It’s a passion that runs deep, and to see it performed with such mastery in a venue like this... it’s simply breathtaking.
Oh, and the tutu? Of course, I brought my favourite hot pink tulle creation! It felt just right for the grandeur of this majestic theatre, and it definitely caught a few admiring glances - my heart did a little happy flutter!
A Tram-tastic Stroll to Brera
After the show, I decided to take a tram to Brera, a district renowned for its art and elegant boutiques. My favourite part? Trams in Milan! They're sleek and charming, with that classic Italian flair. I love people-watching as I go by - everyone here has their own sense of style!
Brera is full of vintage stores, galleries, and cafes - the perfect place to wander and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. It's one of my favourite spots in the city - it has this air of Bohemian chic! I snagged some unique vintage earrings from a little hidden shop - perfect for pairing with my tutu outfits, naturally!
The Art of Fashion
Milan, my darlings, is a fashion mecca! From the exquisite boutiques to the chic street style, it's all about embracing a unique and effortless style. This city inspires me in ways I never imagined!
Even in the bustling crowds, I spotted the most amazing street style! A stylish gentleman with a perfectly fitted grey suit, an artist in vibrant colours who looked right out of a Renaissance painting, and, of course, many glamorous Milanese ladies looking radiant in the latest trends. It's impossible not to feel inspired when surrounded by so much flair and individuality!
The Beauty of Teatro Arcimboldi
One evening, I found myself venturing out to the Teatro Arcimboldi - a fascinating, avant-garde space unlike any other. I absolutely adore its unique design. They really pushed the boundaries of architectural design, with its sleek lines, futuristic angles, and intricate geometric patterns! It feels almost otherworldly.
The ballet that evening, "Giselle," was captivating! It was such a moving and beautiful interpretation, and I just felt enveloped in the power of the performance. It's a reminder of the magic that ballet brings to our lives. Afterward, I found myself lost in a world of pastel hues and floral patterns, drawn by the promise of some exquisite handcrafted vintage dresses. Oh, how I love shopping in Milan!

I visited a charming vintage boutique filled with beautiful tutus and frilly skirts, all in the most fabulous pink hues! My inner girly-girl did a little twirl just from seeing all those pink delights! I simply couldn’t resist purchasing a vintage, feather-trimmed, tutu to add to my collection! It’s the perfect piece for adding a touch of romantic whimsy to my everyday look!

There’s an authentic Italian flair to the way these trams zoom along the avenues. I particularly enjoy riding Tram line 19 - It goes right past some of Milan’s iconic sights!
Art Deco Delights: This week, I fell in love with Milan's Art Deco architecture, especially the glamorous* Palazzo della Permanente*. This building is truly a stunning piece of Italian architecture! Its geometric lines and delicate carvings evoke a sense of refined elegance and timeless beauty. It’s a real treat for the eyes, especially when bathed in the golden light of the setting sun! Just exquisite.
Taking in the Sights: No trip to Milan would be complete without exploring the Duomo, one of the city's most iconic landmarks! It's magnificent and breathtaking in person! With its stunning spires piercing the sky and its ornate facades adorned with intricate sculptures, it's a true architectural masterpiece.
