Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world… Milan!
The crisp autumn air is already making itself known here in Milan, with a nip in the air that whispers of the changing seasons. And as the leaves start to turn their golden hues, I’ve realised, you know what perfectly embodies the vibrant shift in atmosphere? A *pink tutu!*
Think of it – the soft blush of a sunset, a shimmering ballet dancer under the stage lights, a splash of vibrant pink amidst a kaleidoscope of fall colours – there’s a beauty in the contrast!
Today’s post is a whirlwind of Italian magic, with everything from exploring a new part of the city with a vintage tram ride, to the captivating story behind “Giselle” at La Scala. And, of course, a sneak peek into the divine* “Pink Tutu Milan” wardrobe!* I promise you, you’ll want to reach for your most fabulous pink tutu, too, by the end of this blog.
A Vintage Tram AdventureWe all know I love my trams – those charming, clinking chariots of joy. Well, Milan has truly stepped up its tram game. This week, I discovered the vintage “tram storico”, a time machine that takes you back to a bygone era! Imagine the creak of the tracks, the plush velvet seats, and the nostalgic atmosphere – it felt like stepping straight out of a movie set. I grabbed a cinnamon croissant at a little bakery, popped on my “Love, Ballet” enamel pin (a little something for the perfect tram-traveler’s outfit!), and let the magic of vintage transport whisk me away.
La Scala and the Bewitching Story of "Giselle"Okay, so “Giselle” is basically ballet royalty! This iconic Romantic ballet tells the tragic tale of a young country girl who, betrayed by love, becomes a Wilis, vengeful spirits haunting the forest.
To witness it at La Scala (a real Milanian masterpiece!), with the magnificent golden architecture, the lush orchestra, and the dramatic ballet choreography… pure perfection. I even spied a gorgeous pink tutu on one of the dancers – talk about a dreamy way to showcase a story about heartbreak, loss, and love.
Fashion Interlude: Milan's Stylish StreetsThis is the thing about Milan, darling. It’s not just about designer shops; the whole city is like a living runway! The way the locals pull together an outfit… divine! There are chic cafes, artfully arranged window displays, and, let’s face it, stylish pedestrians walking around every corner. It’s enough to inspire a new dance routine, I tell you!
Speaking of outfits, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Remember those vintage, silk scarves I found in a small market the other day? Yes, those very ones have found their place as embellishments on a brand new tutu! A bespoke, bespoke pink tutu for a truly unique Milan look! I just know this tutu will be a regular fixture on my Milan adventures.
A Toast to a Vibrant Milan! One thing’s for sure – I’m falling head-over-heels for this enchanting city. Milan’s charm is woven into its ancient architecture, its vibrant street life, and its timeless stories of artistry and passion.
From vintage trams to iconic ballet productions, I’m so grateful for this weekly escape. Until next time, Milan!
