As always, I was whisked away by the magic of the stage. My latest ballet escapade was a triumphant performance at the Teatro alla Scala, one of the most revered opera houses in the world. You can only imagine the sheer spectacle of the ornate architecture, the rich velvet seats, the murmur of the crowd… and the anticipation hanging in the air as the orchestra tuned! It was an experience that sent shivers down my spine and left my heart soaring. The performance itself was nothing short of breathtaking; a timeless classic that evoked such emotion and sheer talent, leaving me awestruck and wanting more. The beautiful melodies of the La Scala orchestra intertwined with the grace and power of the dancers – pure perfection.
Speaking of perfection, Milan, a city of sartorial excellence, didn’t disappoint. I made sure to hit all the boutiques and indulge in a little shopping therapy, adding some seriously stylish new pieces to my pink tutu wardrobe. You know me, I always love a bit of fashion indulgence, especially when I’m travelling, and Milan's streets are a visual feast of creative masterpieces, with every corner a photo opportunity for my Pink Tutu Instagram. This week, I also found myself exploring Milan’s rich architectural heritage. The Duomo, with its stunning gothic architecture and intricately detailed façade, left me spellbound. Climbing to the top of the dome for a panoramic view of the city was simply breathtaking! You could almost imagine the history unfolding before your very eyes – it felt truly magical. And for those wanting a truly authentic experience, I highly recommend taking a stroll through Navigli, the historic canals of Milan, which come alive with bustling market stalls and charming cafes. It was a delightful experience, brimming with local colour, that reminded me of the charm and elegance that lies at the heart of this sophisticated city.
Naturally, no trip to Milan would be complete without exploring its world-famous food scene. I sampled some incredible cuisine, with fresh ingredients, rich flavours, and a vibrant touch of Italian passion that made each bite a delightful adventure. And the coffee? Heavenly! Each morning started with a delicious espresso or cappuccino, and each sip was pure bliss! ☕️
The journey to Milan itself was an adventure of its own, with a dash of my usual pink tutu sparkle! This time, I journeyed to Milan by train, which offered me the opportunity to absorb the charming landscapes of Italy and marvel at the changing scenery through the train window. Even travelling by train becomes a mini fashion show when you have your favourite tutu and a bit of pink in your suitcase.
