Buongiorno, my lovelies! It's Emma here, back from the fabulous city of Milan with another week of sparkly adventures and, of course, loads of pink tutus!
This week has been all about celebrating the joy of dance, the magic of Milan, and, of course, the divine delights of a pink tutu. As you know, I’m a firm believer that life’s too short for boring outfits – and this week, I took that mantra to the heart of Italian fashion. Let me tell you, it’s pinktastic in Milan!
The Charm of the Tram: A Chic CommuteThe week began with a graceful journey on Milan's charming tram system, complete with a bright pink tutu (naturally!). I've found the trams here to be wonderfully efficient and such a relaxing way to explore the city. The journey itself is an experience. You feel the rhythm of the city, the murmur of conversation, the quiet anticipation of discovery. Plus, the colourful buildings whizzing by offer an endless stream of fashion inspiration.
Speaking of inspiration, I spotted a rather divine pair of patent leather pumps outside the Teatro alla Scala - they just begged to be paired with a dramatic pink tutu! It's moments like these that make Milan such a joy - a feast for the senses that leaves me utterly captivated by the fashion and beauty that surround me.
Ballet Delights and Theatre TreasuresOf course, a trip to Milan wouldn't be complete without a dose of world-class ballet! This week I had the pleasure of seeing "La Traviata" at the Teatro alla Scala. It was a true masterpiece – the costumes, the drama, the exquisite music… It was like a breathtaking dream woven onto the stage.
One of my favourite aspects of ballet is its powerful ability to tell stories without a single word. It allows you to use your imagination, to feel emotions deeply, to connect with the performance on a profound level. I must say, "La Traviata" completely swept me off my feet! The grace and strength of the dancers were awe-inspiring, and the emotion conveyed was truly breathtaking.
Milan truly is the home of some of the most magical theatres. I’m finding that I love going to a different one each week – experiencing the differences in design and grandeur! This week’s theatre treasure was the Teatro dal Verme. A true work of art! ?️
Fashion Finds and Foodie FunNo trip to Milan is complete without a bit of shopping, right? It’s the fashion capital, after all! This week I treated myself to a stunning new silk scarf at a small boutique hidden down a cobblestone alleyway. You just never know what hidden gems you'll stumble upon in Milan – which, honestly, is part of the fun.
After all, what’s fashion without a good afternoon tea, wouldn’t you agree? Milan is positively overflowing with delectable cafes and patisseries - you’re guaranteed to stumble across the most divine tea cake in the most adorable setting. I indulged in a little afternoon delight with a slice of mille-feuille and a cup of strong, Italian espresso - the perfect end to a day filled with ballet and shopping! ☕️
Pink Tutu Mission: Spreading the LoveOf course, my travels wouldn't be complete without spreading my Pink Tutu mission! This week I had the joy of encountering the most adorable group of schoolchildren outside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. You see, one of the greatest joys of my life is seeing the spark of wonder and happiness in a child’s eye when they encounter a tutu - they’re simply magical. And so I did the right thing: I presented them all with a beautiful pink tutu headband. And, oh my, their little faces were filled with such joy and laughter! That is why I do what I do, my friends, to inspire, to share the joy, to remind everyone that a little sprinkle of magic and colour makes the world a better place! ?
Monday Magic: Pink Tutu Blog PostsI have such fun documenting my travels for you all each week on www.pink-tutu.com – and trust me, you'll find tons more exciting photos and details from Milan. You know, my favourite thing is writing this blog post on a Monday morning as I sip a creamy cappuccino with my ballerina bun and a fresh pink tutu! What better way to start the week? I also share all the information on upcoming ballet shows and special events that you won’t want to miss.
My dearest readers, remember to be bold, to be yourself, and to never be afraid to wear a pink tutu! We're all dancers, at heart! Until next week, stay happy and healthy! ??
Lots of love, Emma ?
