It's Emma here, back from another whirl-wind adventure, this time from the chic and stunning Milan. Oh, Milan, you always manage to leave me feeling utterly enchanted.
This week's #PinkTutuMilan is all about love, light, and laughter.
Before I spill all the magical Milanese secrets, I just have to tell you about this beautiful little pink tutu I've got on! It's the perfect shade, a delicate ballet slipper pink that practically glows. I feel like I could dance right out of it onto the cobbled streets! It's giving vintage, it's giving princess, it's giving pink perfection. And the best part? It's oh-so-comfortable - perfect for a day of exploring!
Milan's Tram Travels & Chic Sidewalks
As always, I began my journey by tram, a delightful pink ribbon weaving through the city's heart. Watching the scenery flit by while enjoying a cappuccino was utterly charming. Milano's trams have this retro elegance that makes you feel like you're stepping into a film!
My first stop? Via Montenapoleone, the famous fashion street. Even the air here whispers luxury. And, naturally, my trusty little pink tutu came with me - why not add a little flair to high fashion? Imagine the envy! I love watching the sophisticated Milanese ladies strutting by in their couture ensembles, but I think the real fun is in how they embrace personal style. I can't help but smile seeing everyone expressing themselves in such creative ways.
Speaking of expressing yourself, did I tell you about Balletto di Milano's production of 'Swan Lake'?! It was divine, with each move radiating power and grace. The music had me in a swoon, and the swans... oh, the swans! Simply captivating! It’s honestly a wonder of ballet performance.
Dancing Through the Teatro alla Scala
I had to go and see the magnificent Teatro alla Scala, of course. I don't think it gets more iconic than this in the world of opera and theatre! It’s almost like walking into a dream! Every inch of the building is a testament to artistic excellence, and the history just seems to radiate from every surface. Even if you don't get to catch a show, a wander through the opulent theatre is worth a thousand words! I even popped on my pink tutu for a quick spin on the stage (just a teeny tiny twirl, no spoilers!), feeling every bit the ballerina under those golden lights!
A Bite of Italian Delight & Fashion finds
Of course, no trip to Italy is complete without indulging in the local flavours! My day at the Teatro was followed by the most divine gelato experience in the heart of the Brera district. It was pistachio, the flavour of my heart! Imagine a mouthful of sunshine in creamy, nutty glory!
And what do you do after delicious gelato? More shopping, obviously! I had a wonderful time perusing the quaint little boutiques and vintage stores around Brera, hunting for new pieces to add to my ballet wardrobe! There’s a real artistic vibe in the neighbourhood that spills over into fashion! And, my favourite vintage shop had a pink tutu - how perfect is that?! A little older than my new one, it definitely deserves a special place in my wardrobe!
Pinks & Ballet - It's More than a Colour
You see, dear readers, the colour pink isn’t just a colour for me. It’s about embracing happiness, joy, and pure creativity. When you see someone in a pink tutu, they are inviting everyone around them to join their playful spirit, to experience the beauty of dance and embrace a touch of whimsy.
