Pink Tutu Milan: Ciao from Milano, darlings! Post 1801

It's Wednesday, December 12th, 2029, and I'm writing this from my little pink-hued hotel room in the heart of Milan. I've arrived! The air smells of freshly brewed espresso, the streets are alive with the rumble of vintage scooters and the twinkle of Christmas lights, and even the pigeons are a touch more chic here.

Oh, Milan! You've captivated me since the moment my train pulled into the station. I'm sure it's the romance of this beautiful city, but something about being surrounded by all the glorious fashion and fabulous architecture makes me want to twirl like a sugar plum fairy.

But let's backtrack a little, shall we?

It all began in Derbyshire, England, where I spent the last couple of weeks flitting between ballet classes, performances, and rehearsals. The snow had fallen in a gentle blanket, making the cobblestone streets a magical path to the theatre. As a seasoned ballet dancer, I thrive in that familiar routine - the anticipation of the audience, the warmth of the stage lights, and the thrill of a final bow.

You see, I'm a pink-loving, tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger. My mission in life? To make the world a more tutu-fied place, one pirouette at a time! And you know, the best way to share the magic of dance? To take my passion to the most captivating cities, soaking up the sights, sounds, and stories, then sharing them all with you lovely lot!

That's why, for the next week, I'll be exploring all Milan has to offer – the boutiques, the ballet studios, the legendary performances at La Scala – the list goes on!

Before diving headfirst into the exciting events I've got lined up, let me give you a glimpse into what makes this city so unique.

Milan: A Fashionista's Playground

I know, I know, the name "Milan" practically screams "fashion" - but honestly, it's hard not to get swept away by the undeniable flair and sophistication here. Stepping out of the train station, I found myself in a flurry of beautiful things – sleek cars, chic shops overflowing with designer labels, and people with an undeniable eye for style. Even the buildings have an air of grandeur that makes you want to put on your most glamorous frock and strut down the street.

Milan has this amazing way of combining timeless elegance with cutting-edge trends, and I can already tell it's going to be a feast for the eyes – for both my inner fashionista and my love of ballet!

My Week in Milan: A Tutu-ful Itinerary

Oh, I have such a packed schedule for the week ahead – so exciting! It's all part of my mission to bring you the most authentic Milanese experience through my eyes, or should I say, the lens of my camera!

Here's the scoop on what's in store:

  • Monday: I'm starting my day with a private ballet lesson in a studio close to my hotel. Milan is known for its talented dancers and innovative choreographers, so I'm incredibly excited to see what's on offer here. Think grand jetés, elegant pirouettes, and maybe even a touch of Italian flair!

  • Tuesday: Milan is a fashion capital, and I'd be remiss not to experience the thrill of shopping on Via Montenapoleone. From vintage boutiques to designer havens, I'm on the hunt for that perfect pink dress that will make my heart flutter and bring out the inner prima ballerina in me.

  • Wednesday: Ah, the day I arrive in the magnificent city of Milan! The afternoon will be filled with exploring the city center. My plan is to lose myself in the intricate beauty of the Duomo, then indulge in some delicious gelato at one of those quaint sidewalk cafes. The best part? All of this can be experienced on Milan's lovely and convenient tram system. A leisurely stroll down the Duomo is truly a sensory delight.

  • Thursday: I'm making my way to Teatro alla Scala – Milan's legendary opera house! This place has seen some of the greatest operas and ballets in history, and I can’t wait to experience its magic. This is my ultimate dream and why I'm here, in Milan, now. Tonight will be pure magic!

  • Friday: Today, I'll head to the Armani Silos to learn about the iconic fashion house and their amazing fashion shows. I'm so excited to get lost in the world of Armani! It'll be an unforgettable day full of inspiration and style!

  • Saturday: This will be my relaxing day as I take the scenic tram to the Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio for some peace, quiet, and time for reflection. There are wonderful shops in this part of Milan as well, including an abundance of charming restaurants serving authentic local cuisine.

  • Sunday: What's a trip to Italy without experiencing the iconic "aperitivo"? The concept of aperitivo - a social gathering in a bar, café, or restaurant at the end of the day - is something I just need to try. This is a unique and wonderful way to indulge in Italy's delightful culture.

A Word from my Pink Tutu World

As I get ready to take on Milan, I can't help but think of you all – my wonderful, supportive tutu-lovers!

You're the ones who inspire me to wear my pink tutu with pride, to dance with a smile, and to chase my dreams, no matter how grand. So here's to sharing the adventure – to ballet, fashion, gelato, and maybe a few twirls along the way!

And who knows, maybe I'll even get you all twirling in a pink tutu, one dazzling city at a time.

Ciao from Milan!

Emma xoxo
