Pink Tutu Blog NYC: #7 A Dance Through the Big Apple
Helloooo darlings! Emma here, fresh back from another fabulous weekend in the Big Apple, ready to spill the tea on my latest adventures. This week, itās all about ballet, shopping, and some serious New York glitz and glam. So grab your favourite pink tutu, pour yourself a cuppa, and get comfy, because weāre about to whisk you away on a journey through my New York City diary!
As usual, Iām funding my trip by dancing, and this week, I landed myself a dream gig. The whole weekend was a whirlwind of rehearsals and performances, all under the dazzling lights of Broadway. Let me tell you, thereās nothing quite like performing to a packed house, the roar of applause after the final curtain callā¦it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! And let's not forget the incredible feeling of finally pulling off that pirouette after a tricky rehearsal. Pure magic!
This week's theme was "The Great Gatsby", so picture this: glitzy art deco dresses, flapper-inspired hair, and enough sequins to sparkle from a mile away! I felt like I was stepping back in time, and it was absolutely enchanting. But enough about me, you're all here for the city that never sleeps, aren't you?
So, after my performance on Saturday, my bestie (and fellow tutu-loving soul) Amelia and I were feeling peckish. Where better to indulge in some delicious food than in the heart of Little Italy? We devoured a plate of steaming hot pasta and some authentic Italian pastries. We couldnāt resist a quick photo-op in front of the iconic Mulberry Street, before hopping on the subway and heading to Times Square. Now, letās be honest, New York's a bit like a giant, glittering disco ball, isnāt it? The lights, the billboards, the sheer energy of it allā¦ it was intoxicating. And it only took five minutes before I was drawn in by a mesmerising shop window filled with sparkling clothes. Can you imagine a fashionistaās paradise like that, just beckoning me to come inside? Of course, I couldn't resist! We emerged from the store (with, of course, a few irresistible purchases - I just can't help myself!) with happy smiles and a very, very full bag!
Sunday was for relaxation and a dose of culture. The famous Lincoln Center was calling, with a performance by the American Ballet Theatre. The artistry and technical brilliance of the dancers just blew me away. Each graceful leap and twirl told a story, painting beautiful emotions across the stage. It was a breathtaking experience and the perfect ending to my weekend. But the best part of it all, aside from the phenomenal ballet itself, was sitting next to Amelia, wearing my most exquisite pink tutu (with a sparkly tulle overlay, naturally!) feeling utterly happy and completely content. Itās these little moments of shared joy, filled with sparkle and twirls, that make life feel like a real-life fairytale.
Monday, as always, is for travel day. Back to my little Derbyshire cottage, with a head full of New York dreams, a heart full of memories, and my suitcase filled with treasures!
Before I go, I want to share a bit of inspiration for you lovely lot. Whatās the one thing youād do in New York if you could? Iād love to hear your dreams, your adventures, and, most importantly, what you think of my new tutu collection (hint, itās pretty amazing!) Donāt forget to pop over to the website for some special deals and tutu-inspired fashion tips. And let's keep those tutu dreams alive!
Remember, thereās no age limit for tutus, just boundless joy!
Until next week, my dearest readers, remember to twirl, sparkle, and make your own magic.
Love,
Emma

New York City
- Event: The Great Gatsby performance (Saturday night)
- Performance: Broadway show
- Location: Times Square
- Shop: Shopping spree
- Dinner: Authentic Italian food in Little Italy
- Sunday: Ballet at Lincoln Center
Iām still in a bit of a daze from all the excitement! Did I tell you, the best part about the Lincoln Center performance? There was a young girl there, about five years old, sat right in front of us, completely enthralled. It was just so wonderful seeing the way ballet could move someone so young. As always, it fills me with such passion for sharing this amazing world with the next generation. Speaking of tutus, what do you think? Amelia says that I shouldn't let this hobby, this passion for the dance and for beautiful things, become just that - a hobby. She believes it should be a mission to share this love with the whole world! You know, Amelia is always so encouraging. I must say I agree! Everyone should twirl in a pink tutu! Wouldn't it be a truly wonderful world where everyone, young or old, was encouraged to find their own personal form of expression and let their inner ballerina shine?
Now, my lovely readers, if youāre ever in New York, or even if you're not, do you have a favorite place you go to dance or enjoy the arts? Let me know! I'd love to hear your recommendations, and to get to know you a bit better.
Remember, keep twirling, keep sparkling, and most of all, stay beautiful!

Shopping Spree!
Oh, my goodness, did you ever! It wouldnāt be a proper Pink Tutu Blog without a detailed report on my latest shopping expedition. My little pink piglet went wild this week! Now, where to start... Well, picture it: Times Square. All those shimmering, luminous lights bouncing off every corner. And then you walk into this tiny boutique tucked away amongst all those chain stores andā¦you find it. A treasure trove of pure fashion bliss.
Hereās the scoop on my new wardrobe additions. Iāve found myself some divine sequin-laden flapper dresses that will take me right back to those roaring 20s vibes. Imagine dancing under the stars in this shimmering silver number ā it would be sensational! And, I picked up a handful of dazzling, glitzy accessories ā a head-turning, bejeweled hair comb (that just begs for a fancy do, or even for everyday chic!) and a sparkling pink choker necklace (because every tutu-wearing girl needs a little sparkle around her neck, right?).
There was a fabulous vintage-style jacket, crafted with the most beautiful, silky floral material. It had just the right amount of panache for those cool New York nights when I want to feel a little sophisticated, a little elegant, but still maintain my unmistakable Pink Tutu spirit! And finally, to complete my ensemble, I snagged the most darling little hat. A jaunty, cherry-red, velvet concoction adorned with a silk flower and feathers ā so elegant!
Now, Iām picturing all those exciting New York outfits, perfect for swirling, twirling and simply looking stunning. The next question, of course, is where will I be sporting these new additions? A rooftop party, maybe? A charming dinner with my lovely friends? A show-stopping, twirling, grand entrance somewhereā¦somewhere with some beautiful scenery and breathtaking backdrops! Oh, it's simply too much excitement!
I am thrilled with the shopping trip! It gave me that little extra boost I needed. Now I just have to decide when and where to show off my new outfits ā any ideas?
I'd love to hear about your favorite shops, your fashion discoveries and maybe even see a few snaps of your own fab style! Let's have a proper tutu-themed fashion showdown! Send me your photos!
But for now, Iām going to close up shop, let you all digest the latest happenings of the Pink Tutu Blog. Donāt forget, everyone, always believe in yourself and let your personality shine through!
Stay stylish!

Traveling in Style
My dear readers, if thereās one thing you can count on with the Pink Tutu Blog, it's that every journey is an opportunity to channel our inner style maven. And the New York metro, well, thatās just begging for a little dose of pink-tutu magic, don't you think?
Don't get me wrong, the New York metro is certainly not for the faint of heart, or for anyone who shies away from a bit of a jostle. The sheer number of people packed in at peak timesā¦ you could be forgiven for thinking that you'd somehow gotten trapped in a scene from the movie āThe Swarmā.
But there is something so thrilling, so wonderfully cosmopolitan, about navigating through the subway tunnels and witnessing the bustling heart of New York City. Each station seems to whisper with its own personality ā there's a vintage glamour in the architecture of Times Square Station, while Grand Central Station pulsates with modern hustle. And amidst it all, me? I'm simply there in my beautiful tutu, a beacon of pink-tutu delight in the middle of all the grey. I like to think I add a dash of whimsical joy to every journey. Itās like being on a magical carpet ride, with each station being a stop at a new, exhilarating adventure. And of course, what journey is complete without a sprinkle of pink tutu magic? I just canāt help myself, my dear readers, there is no point in travelling anywhere if I canāt look stunning. So, whether Iām rushing across Manhattan or strolling through Central Park, Iām all about comfort and flair. This week, my trusty little black ballet bag was my partner in crime, carrying all the essentials ā my sparkly make-up kit (essential for touch-ups!), my favorite pink scarf, and a collection of those cute little pink notepads to jot down ideas (it wouldnāt be a pink tutu blog without some lovely little notepads to inspire new adventures).
This past week, I've had a lot of time on the metro. After all, getting from one show or rehearsal to another isn't always easy. It was on my commute on Friday morning that I thought I might be having my very own New York miracle. I sat down opposite a woman wearing the most stunning bright red suit. She was on the phone, and I swear she looked as though she stepped straight out of a chic magazine. You see, I was feeling a little tired, the New York week was already in full swing, and I felt my usual enthusiasm dwindling. Then she said something in her strong New York accent: āThis will be my masterpieceā, she proclaimed.
She wasn't talking about the project she was working on for work. She was talking about a fabulous hat. A giant, enormous, fabulous red hat. And guess what? The same woman had been sat opposite me every day for the whole week, even on Saturday, looking amazing. The thing is, the previous days, she was wearing a small, rather mundane brown hat. But it seems like even small gestures can change the way we see ourselves. It reminded me that even if you're just going for a stroll around the block, it's never too early to start creating a masterpiece, whether itās a beautiful piece of clothing or a wonderful new piece of your life.
It got me thinking ā my readers, are you all fashion enthusiasts? I mean, when you're getting ready to go out, what kind of clothes do you gravitate towards? Are you bold, colorful, daring? Are you a classic style guru? Are you a bohemian, carefree soul? I'd love to hear all about your style, the pieces you feel confident and gorgeous in, the outfits that make you say āwow, I look amazingā! I can't wait to hear about all the lovely clothes you like to wear!
Until next week, keep twirling, keep sparkling, keep travelling in style, and always remember, my darlings: the metro can be your runway!
Love,
Emma
The City that Never Sleeps...
Itās amazing, isnāt it, how this city feels so vibrant even when it seems like the entire world is asleep. New York never ceases to surprise, especially when it comes to entertainment. As I write this, my morning cuppa is bubbling away in my tiny Derbyshire cottage, but my mind is still whirling with thoughts of the Broadway show I saw last week. The energy, the costumes, the music - it truly was electrifying. Iād be a fool to miss the magic that unfolds on those dazzling stages. But, oh my, sometimes it feels like Iām simply caught in the whirlwind, swept away by the tide of a thousand different adventures. Sometimes I wonder if itās all a little muchā¦ I yearn for some peace and quiet, a few hours with a good book, and a cuppa that doesnāt need to be a takeaway from a tiny coffee shop.
However, it wouldnāt be the Pink Tutu Blog without an appreciation for those truly remarkable things about the city. This time, I stumbled across an adorable little dance studio tucked away in Greenwich Village. It had those big, wide windows and sunshine pouring in, which, in a city as big and hectic as New York, really felt like a special moment. I spent the entire morning taking a fantastic workshop and chatting to fellow dancers, swapping tips, and discovering how we can use our passions to bring beauty into the world.
It was there, in a warm, comfy studio, filled with the laughter of dancers, that I realised that sometimes we just need a small, cozy haven to make sense of our lives and fuel our dreams. I discovered that my dream, my true aim in life, is to get everyone wearing a pink tutu! Wouldnāt that be a truly beautiful, inspiring, joyful sight?
In a world of grey, what would it be like if everyone, everywhere, wore a pink tutu? Would it make people feel more carefree and confident? Maybe more open to letting their personalities shine, like a beautiful, whimsical burst of color in a monochrome world? Or maybe it would just be fun!
I love those days, when something unexpected comes along to show you a new perspective, open your eyes, and maybe even re-ignite a spark in your heart.
So, my dear readers, my lovelies, have you ever come across something that completely transformed your perspective? It could be a new hobby, a fantastic movie, a new friend. Iād love to hear about the little miracles that have popped into your life, reminding you of the beauty and the wonder that exist around us. Itās those special moments that help to paint the world in vibrant colours and bring a little sparkle into every day.
As Iāve learned, sometimes all we need is a moment of quiet contemplation, some sunshine, and perhaps a delightful cup of tea, to bring our thoughts into focus. But until then, Iām off to discover my next New York adventure!
Until next time, my dears!
Emma
