Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post #109 - Tutuing Around The Big Apple! ๐ฉฐ๐ฝ
Hey darlings! It's Monday, July 7th 1997, and Emma's back in the Big Apple with another juicy dose of Pink Tutu magic! As you know, I love my trips to New York, and this one is extra special because I'm here for a whirlwind weekend, combining ballet with my ultimate shopping fix!
Before we delve into all the fabulousness, let's just appreciate the pure joy of a bright, sunny July morning in NYC! I'm sat here in my favourite little cafe on Bleecker Street, enjoying a cappuccino and a pastry while people watching. New Yorkers are so stylish โ everyone's dressed to the nines, even if they're just grabbing a coffee. It's all about attitude and a touch of effortless chic, and I'm soaking it all up.
Oh, and speaking of effortless chic... did I mention my outfit? Of course! My signature pink tutu (this time it's a dreamy swirl of blush pink and shimmer) paired with a cotton lace blouse, a navy blazer, and the cutest pair of baby pink ballet flats. This look is just begging for a stroll through Central Park or a dance through Times Square!
Dancing The Night Away at Lincoln Center
The main event of my trip so far was the absolute masterpiece of a performance at the Lincoln Center! Let me tell you, my love for ballet runs deeper than the New York subway tunnels (and that's saying something!) I got to see the glorious "Swan Lake" by the New York City Ballet. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and it made me long for a return to my ballet class (maybe next week I'll post a video of my own little practice!).
After the performance, my fellow tutu-loving friends and I decided to celebrate at a glamorous little jazz bar just a stone's throw away from Lincoln Center. We drank cocktails and listened to some fantastic music, which was perfect for letting the emotions of the performance flow. What can I say, ballet truly makes my soul sing!
Shopping and Discovering New York
Naturally, no trip to NYC would be complete without a dash of shopping! I am, after all, the reigning queen of "tutu-tiful" shopping finds. I headed down to SoHo, where the boutiques are just overflowing with amazing styles. I picked up a silk scarf for my collection and a pair of adorable pink knee-high boots to complete my latest ballet-inspired ensemble. I simply couldn't resist! It's a known fact: you can never have too many tutus or shoes.
As a Londoner at heart, the hustle and bustle of this city never fails to thrill me! Today I was hopping on the subway like a true New Yorker, enjoying the cacophony of sounds, the kaleidoscope of colors, and the sense of exhilarating energy. I've explored Greenwich Village and the trendy shops in the Meatpacking District, taken a stroll through Times Square (it never gets old!) and soaked up the vibrant atmosphere of the city that never sleeps.
Pink Tutu Musings and Goals:
This trip has made me realize just how magical New York truly is! Iโm constantly inspired by this city's bold spirit, and of course, it reminds me of my own little corner of pink tutu dreams.
My mission, as always, is to inspire the world to embrace the joy and grace of ballet โ one tutu at a time! I am determined to show everyone that wearing a tutu is more than just a dance outfit; itโs about embracing the freedom of self-expression and dancing through life with your own unique style. This might mean a sparkly tutu for a birthday party or even just wearing a pink ballerina slipper for a special day. I hope to empower everyone, no matter their age, to unleash their inner ballerina.
And to all you pink-tutu lovers out there: stay tuned for next week's post. Iโm going to be sharing my top tips on how to rock your own tutu-inspired looks! Remember, darlings: โLife is a dance, and every day is a new opportunity to twirl!โ
Until next Monday, keep those tutus twirling!
Love,
Emma ๐ฉฐ
