Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Monday 3rd July, 2000: Tutu-ing Around the Big Apple! 🩰🍎

Hey everyone! It's Emma from Pink Tutu Blog, and I'm back in New York City! This is post number 265 in my New York adventure, and it's going to be a big one! 💖

The city that never sleeps is calling, and I'm ready to answer! I've been performing in some amazing shows across the US, which has been just fabulous. It's great to bring a bit of pink tutu sparkle to the stage wherever I go, and people always love it! 😉 The travelling life is pretty hectic, but it's definitely a dream come true to get to experience different cities and cultures through my passion for ballet.

Today, I'm feeling all kinds of fabulous as I'm heading out to explore some of New York City's hidden gems!

Subway Soiree

My favourite way to get around the city is by the subway, even if it is a bit on the crazy side. It's like a whirlwind of people and cultures, with each station holding its own charm. I always get a giggle from the diverse styles and personalities. Imagine: business suits, street performers, mums with prams, hip-hop dancers, everyone squeezed together heading to their next adventure. You just never know who you’ll encounter. It's a great place to watch people! Oh, and I did just happen to meet the most delightful man in my pink tutu at the 42nd street stop this morning! He actually asked if I was headed to see Les Misérables! How fun is that? 😉

I’ve got to confess: the metro is also an excellent place to do a little bit of people-watching. You never know what amazing styles you'll spot! A flamboyant lady in a sequin jacket, a group of skateboarders with bold neon colours, or a girl rocking an incredible hat – you just never know what you're going to see on the subway! 😉

New York, New York

Anyway, I’ve got a schedule that's more packed than a suitcase full of tutus! I'm definitely on the hunt for the latest trends and those oh-so-adorable pink tutus. There are so many cute shops I want to visit in SoHo, but of course, a visit to Fifth Avenue would be unthinkable! What would a girl do in NYC without a touch of luxury?

And don’t even get me started on Broadway! I can’t resist the allure of those magnificent stage productions. A dazzling show featuring dazzling dancers? Sign me up! You’ve got to see them for yourselves, the whole thing is absolutely spellbinding! You could just get swept up in the performance! 🤩

I can already picture myself dancing on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House, the largest opera house in the United States, the ultimate goal! Just imagine: I'm wearing a custom-made pink tutu that shimmers under the spotlight, with intricate beading and elegant layers of tulle. The music starts, and my body starts moving gracefully to the music. The entire audience is mesmerised by my every move! It’s my dream. I can't wait to share my future success stories! 🤩

Time To Tutu-tastic!

Right, I’ve got to dash. I have an appointment for a delicious Italian lunch and to look at the most beautiful flowers! I’ll pop into some fabulous stores afterwards, perhaps pick up some more tutus, who knows? 🛍️

Stay tuned for the rest of my adventure! It's going to be a fun-filled weekend!

Keep twirling, Emma 💗

So here is some more detail for the post you asked me to create. These details should be fun and exciting:

What Emma did on this particular Monday

Emma took a very early metro ride, to soak up the New York vibe, even going so far as to take a photograph of a very colourful character wearing a bright yellow top hat. Then it was off to meet her friend Sarah for lunch in a little Italian café she had discovered near Time Square.

Then they popped into a florist where Sarah wanted to purchase a small bouquet. This was so Emma could get a photograph of Sarah posing with the flowers in her pink tutu. Emma found the florist on 47th Street and couldn’t resist buying a beautiful single rose. (Because you never know when you'll need a beautiful flower!).

Next, the pair enjoyed an afternoon exploring Fifth Avenue and then headed to SoHo. Emma managed to bag herself an adorable new tutu with butterflies printed onto it in a quirky boutique, which just had to be posted to Instagram. It looked incredible against the brick background.

After that it was time for a Broadway Show: “Cabaret,” which is of course the perfect show to enjoy on a Monday. Sarah had picked it as a treat because Emma just loved Liza Minelli's movie adaptation from years ago. They discussed this and how excited they were to watch the production live afterwards! (Emma had actually already planned on seeing Cabaret again as it was the show where she’d performed her first ever professional ballet dance years ago.)

The night ended with them visiting one of their favourite cafes to drink steaming hot chocolate! The show finished in a fantastic standing ovation and then it was onto their little break at a trendy new bar near to Central Park that served decadent hot chocolate – what else could a ballet dancer desire on a hot summers night in NYC!

About the Tutu:

The tutu is a key element to Emma's identity and the core concept of her blog! For her, the pink tutu is more than just a piece of clothing, it's a symbol of empowerment, femininity, and joy. She believes it can inspire people of all ages to embrace their inner sparkle. Emma wears pink tutus for everything: walking, shopping, dining, taking the metro – wherever she goes, she’s always in pink!

Fashion, Style, and Trends

She loves to try on the newest and most fashionable pink tutu's in the city's trendiest boutiques. There are tons of places to go in New York to shop for fabulous tutus in many different styles and fabrics: silk, tulle, sequins. For Emma the style just has to be a perfect shade of pink! Of course, she likes to keep a balanced shopping lifestyle and sometimes, on a "just because" basis, will buy a beautiful pair of shoes. (She especially enjoys a red ballet slipper or two!) 👠

More about Emma

Emma was brought up in Derbyshire, England, but the lure of the ballet and New York City's glamour had led her to make her life on the other side of the Atlantic. She lives for the opportunity to see a Broadway production and tries to visit as many new places in the Big Apple as she can, so as to add fresh material to her blog. Every now and again she’ll be able to travel back to Derbyshire, but it’s fair to say that New York is home to this ambitious young ballerina!
