Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Monday 2001-06-25 - New York, New York! 🩰💖

Hello lovelies!

It's Emma here, writing to you from the bustling streets of New York City! 🏙️ This week, I've traded the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the concrete jungle and I'm utterly smitten with the energy of this incredible city.

As always, my trusty pink tutu is travelling with me! This one, a shimmering concoction of pink sequins and feathers, was a birthday gift from my wonderful mum, and it's practically begging to be twirled in the bright lights of Broadway! 😉

I've been on the go since arriving last Wednesday. My journey from the airport involved a thrilling subway ride - who knew the Metro could be so stylish! (I'm considering adding a Metro card to my ever-growing collection of accessories!) 🚇

I've already done a fair bit of sightseeing – you know, all the classics - The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the Empire State Building... It's been absolutely breathtaking! New York City is a true spectacle! And as much as I love experiencing the famous sights, I also relish wandering off the beaten track and exploring the hidden gems tucked away in every corner of this exciting metropolis.

But you know me, I can't just be a tourist, I need to be a part of the fabric of the city, even if only for a fleeting moment. This means indulging in everything New York has to offer: from mouthwatering hotdogs and decadent cheesecake to catching a show on Broadway, to joining in with the frenetic energy of street performers – a busker playing a haunting violin tune right next to a fire-eating performer was quite the spectacle! 🔥

And then, of course, there's the shopping. Oh my, the shopping! 🛍️ I've already discovered a boutique called "Tutu Chic," filled with fabulous pink tutus, feathered boas, and all manner of dancewear. I'm seriously thinking about adding a few more tutus to my collection… What’s a girl to do?!

Speaking of dancing, I found the most wonderful ballet class near my hotel. Imagine this - an open-air rooftop space overlooking Central Park, the sunshine warming our faces as we pirouetted to the rhythm of a talented pianist. I danced with all my heart, a giant pink tutu swirling around me. What a magical experience! 🩰

The highlight of my trip so far has been seeing "The Phantom of the Opera". What a spectacle! I was mesmerised by the talented performers and their dramatic portrayals, and of course, the music was absolutely breathtaking! It's a reminder why I love attending theatrical performances so much – they ignite a spark in my soul and fuel my own passion for the stage! 🎭

Speaking of fueling my passion, today I am going to the New York City Ballet. Can't wait to see the graceful dancers, the elegant choreography, and of course, the opulent costumes! (A few tutus might be making an appearance, of course… )

The day is shaping up to be utterly perfect, filled with a whirlwind of sightseeing, delicious treats, and even more dancing, but what's life without a little chaos, right? 😉

Stay tuned, lovelies. My adventure in the Big Apple is just getting started, and I'm already planning a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art… I hear they have an impressive collection of costumes from stage and screen… You just can't beat the art and history of performance! ✨

And, of course, I can't leave you without a few words of encouragement, my darling tutus. Always remember - life's a dance, so spin and twirl with joy! 💃

See you next Monday for another pink-tastic update!

Love,

Emma 💖
