I'm back in the Big Apple, New York City! 🍎 It feels absolutely incredible to be back in this vibrant, exciting city, where dreams dance in the air just as much as the glitter and glamour on Broadway.
As you all know, my quest to get everyone wearing pink tutus knows no geographical boundaries! This time around, I've set my sights on captivating the hearts and wardrobes of all New Yorkers, from the sophisticated Upper East Siders to the cool Brooklynites, and of course, the glamorous folks in Times Square!
This week, I'm especially thrilled to be sharing my adventures in this city that never sleeps – a place that holds a special place in my heart. I mean, just picture it – a world of towering skyscrapers, the constant hum of traffic, a dazzling tapestry of street performers, iconic yellow taxis buzzing past, and, of course, a cornucopia of pink tutus! Oh, my heart is overflowing with pink tutu dreams! 💖
This Monday, the 10th of December, 2001, is filled with pink tutu plans. And of course, with the help of my faithful travel companion, the Metro, I'm ready to embrace every moment of it! This magical city always throws up surprises, and I can't wait to share my discoveries with you. So grab your favourite pink tutu (or borrow mine! 😜), and let's dive right in!
Breakfast at Tiffany's… Well, almost!
First up, I'm starting my day with a spot of classic New York indulgence. Now, it's no secret that I adore the iconic film "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Just imagine the scene: Audrey Hepburn, gracefully swirling in a chic black dress and pearls, with a single-pronged tiara sparkling on her crown. (Yes, my ballerina heart skipped a beat!) And that moment when she gets her own Tiffany box? Pure perfection. But for me, breakfast wouldn't be complete without a dash of pink. So, I'm heading to a delightful café that serves a truly extraordinary "Breakfast in Tiffany's" themed tutu platter. 🎀 This feast comes complete with fluffy pancakes dusted with pink glitter, a side of rainbow-coloured fruit skewers, a dollop of pink-tinted whipped cream, and, of course, a little pink-tinted mimosa to go with it! Honestly, darling, how could anyone say no to this pinktastic delight?!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, better known as The Met, is one of my favourite museums in the world, and trust me, I've been to quite a few! The beauty of the Renaissance paintings, the intricate tapestries, the captivating Egyptian artefacts - they always mesmerize me. 🖼️ Today, I'm planning to embrace my inner-artist, but in true pink tutu fashion, of course! My favourite place in The Met is the Costume Institute, where fashion history meets art. The exhibits are nothing short of awe-inspiring – and imagine my excitement when I saw the amazing ballgowns and tutus from past eras, like the tutu worn by the iconic Margot Fonteyn in Swan Lake! It almost had me doing pirouettes right there in the museum. Almost…
Step into the World of Ballet
This evening, I'm headed to the heart of New York City's vibrant theatre scene, to witness the magic of "The Nutcracker" at the world-renowned Lincoln Center. Now, this classic ballet holds a very special place in my heart. It is simply a masterpiece – a swirling vortex of elegant movements, a whimsical journey of sugar plums, a truly breathtaking show. You've got Tchaikovsky's exquisite music, the enchanting story of a young girl's Christmas dreams, and those fabulous tutus, oh so graceful, that have stolen my heart ever since I first became smitten with ballet. To me, this is the ultimate expression of pure, ethereal beauty, a celebration of grace and artistic talent!
An Evening of Glittering Glamour
Before "The Nutcracker", I'm taking a spin through one of my favourite areas: Times Square. It's a sight that makes my ballerina soul twirl with joy. This place pulsates with dazzling lights, flashing screens, and a constant stream of excited tourists.
And the food, darlings, the food! The mere thought of the New York street food scene has me dancing with glee. New York pizza, fluffy bagels, giant soft pretzels with that sweet mustard, those glorious juicy hotdogs, and let's not forget, the most delightful, melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon buns that I've ever tasted!
My Pink Tutu Style: In Fashion Harmony
You all know that my style philosophy is quite simple – to embrace colour, and of course, my love for pink. And in a city as vibrant as New York, I couldn't resist experimenting with some new styles! Today's look is a whimsical blend of pink tutu charm and chic city style. I've chosen a silky, bubblegum pink top that I’ve paired with a fitted pair of black tailored trousers, a chic black leather jacket (the perfect blend of rebellious and glamorous!), and a pair of ballet flats. And no outfit is complete without a splash of sparkling charm. A tiny pink glitter necklace is the finishing touch! It's feminine and sparkling without being overly dressy – the perfect outfit for a busy day of exploring the city.
My Tutu Journey – The Pinktastic Power of Tutus
Speaking of spreading the pink tutu magic, I had a truly lovely encounter yesterday with a young girl who was just beginning her ballet classes. I could see she was a little shy and nervous about starting. So I did what any self-respecting pink tutu aficionado would do. I walked over, introduced myself, and of course, gave her my pink tutu philosophy! “There is nothing that a pink tutu can’t fix,” I declared. She started giggling, and the light in her eyes just sparkled with the magic of ballet dreams. We shared a giggle and a little pink tutu wisdom, and I could feel the joy in the air, the same joy that I get when I'm twirling in a pink tutu myself!

That incident reminds me of why I started this blog. It’s not just about fashion and tutus, although I do love those! It's about the joy of sharing that special feeling that ballet gives me.
