Pink Tutu Blog NYC - #483

Monday 6th September 2004

Oh darling, hold onto your hats! Iā€™ve arrived in the Big Apple ā€“ New York City! The very mention of this iconic metropolis sends shivers down my spine, or rather a twirl in my tutu. From the moment I stepped off the plane, a wave of excitement crashed over me. You could practically taste the energy in the air. And it's only heightened by the glorious sunshine beaming down on the concrete jungle.

Pink-Tutu.com is taking on the vibrant pulse of this city, and Iā€™m ready to dance, darling. Just wait until you see what this week has in store!

Landing in Manhattan, and a little Pink-Tutu Shopping

As soon as I arrived at my cute little hotel near Times Square, I had to ditch my luggage and grab a taxi to Fifth Avenue. It's a must-do for any Pink Tutu enthusiast. From Bergdorf Goodman to Tiffany & Co, the stores beckoned with promise and the allure of luxury. I had to snag a little something, of course. A pair of delicate pearl earrings, a bright pink clutch, and ā€“ for the sheer joy of it ā€“ a feather boa in the most amazing shade of fuchsia.

I might be known for my love of pink tutus, but darling, itā€™s no secret that Iā€™ve got a soft spot for fabulous frocks, especially ones that bring a splash of colour to a grey day. And todayā€™s a perfect day for it. I'm heading out later this evening to the Metropolitan Opera House for an exclusive ballet performance. You can imagine the outfit I'm planningā€¦ Iā€™ve got a silk blush pink maxi dress in mind. One of those romantic ones with a flowing skirt, that dances as you move. Oh, and letā€™s not forget about my diamond necklace! My usual, shimmering ballet shoes will complete the look perfectly.

New York City Subway ā€“ The Metro Dance-Floor

Now, hereā€™s a little secretā€¦ this week is all about finding new ways to make every journey into a graceful, graceful spectacle! Imagine gliding through the New York City Metro, surrounded by commuters and luggage, and not a hair out of place. The New York subway is surprisingly... inspiring!

Here's the trick: Youā€™ve got to move like you're floating in a delicate waltz, your pink tutu just brushing the tops of the seats as you weave through the throng. The challenge, darling, is to make the daily commute as fabulous as the red carpet! I'll let you know how I fare in my next blog post. Itā€™s already shaping up to be a whirlwind of pink, glitz, and glorious movement.

Sunday Plans & a Ballet-Loving Family

Right now, the highlight of this New York journey is a visit to The Lincoln Center for the opening performance of ā€œThe Sleeping Beautyā€. And, just to add a little personal touch to this cultural journey, Iā€™m meeting with a family I discovered online. Theyā€™re a family of ballet dancers!

How utterly fabulous, donā€™t you think?

I have a sneaky suspicion that weā€™ll be attending ballet classes, waltzing down Central Park in tutus, and just generally causing a bit of a pink explosion.

I might even try my luck on Broadway. Imagine dancing on stage alongside a legendary musical cast. If there's a little space for a ballerina in a pink tutu, well, I wouldnā€™t mind putting on a little show. Just imagine ā€“ Pink Tutu on Broadway ā€“ it has a ring to it, wouldnā€™t you say?

A Peek into my Travel Secrets

Just in case youā€™re curious about the hows and whys of my globe-trotting adventures, let me shed a little light on the behind-the-scenes secrets of Pink-Tutu.com. I love performing ballet, of course, and youā€™ll always find me pirouetting at various theatre venues and fundraising galas. It helps keep the travel fund healthy. However, itā€™s not all tutus and stage lights. I've also recently delved into ballet street performance. Imagine bringing a bit of classical magic to bustling public spaces ā€“ you know, that kind of performance that makes everyone smile and momentarily forget their worries.

My Pink-Tutu Mission

As a lover of all things pretty and a devout devotee of the Pink-Tutu Manifesto my journey doesnā€™t end there. I also spend a fair amount of time inspiring others. Whether it's writing a Pink-Tutu guide for beginners, encouraging dance enthusiasts to Live Life In Pink, or simply hosting a ballet class, I strive to make every day a celebration of movement, creativity, and ā€“ of course ā€“ a dash of pink.

Letā€™s get the Pink Tutu Buzz going in New York!

Darling, as we explore the hidden corners of New York this week, remember to always have a good time, keep a watchful eye out for inspiring moments, and most importantly:

Wear Pink! (But always with a smile, of course.)

Follow my daily antics right here on Pink-Tutu.com and feel free to share your Pink Tutu moments with me in the comment section below.

See you next Monday,

Fashion Spotlights of the Day

Hereā€™s a glimpse of what caught my eye during a whirl through the glamorous shopping streets:

A. * A dress from *Oscar de la Renta. Iā€™m thinking ā€˜cocktail hourā€™ with a dramatic touch! And who better than Mr. Oscar himself to design it?

B. A handbag from Prada with a chic pastel shade, reminiscent of cotton candy. Itā€™s my kind of girly indulgence!

C. The ballet flats from Manolo Blahnik. Who says a girl canā€™t be comfy yet glamorous?

D. A pair of glittery Converse All Stars in pink. I must confess ā€“ my inner child couldnā€™t resist!

I might have already fallen head over heels for some of these little treasures. Maybe Iā€™ll let you in on my fashion haul at the end of the weekā€¦

xx
