#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Monday 1st August 2005 - Post #530
Hello darlings!
It's Monday again, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogNYC! I'm still buzzing from a truly magical weekend in the Big Apple, and let me tell you, it was packed with pink perfection and the most incredible ballet experiences. This week's blog post is coming to you from my favourite little Parisian-style café near Central Park - think dainty pastries and cappuccinos served with a generous sprinkling of sugar, and you'll be in the right place!
Now, before I get into the fabulous details, let's address the pink elephant in the room… yes, it's August, and I know some of you might be thinking it's getting a bit too hot for tutus! But fear not, my dearest followers, I'm not letting a bit of summer heat stop me from embracing my pink and fluffy best! Just this morning, I donned my pale rosebud tulle number – a glorious, swishy creation from a charming vintage store I stumbled upon in Soho – and it looked absolutely divine against the shimmering summer sky!
So, onto the exciting news! This past weekend was a whirlwind of ballerina bliss, and I had the honour of experiencing a stunning performance at the Metropolitan Opera House, which left me speechless. Oh, the sheer talent and artistry of the dancers, the grand orchestra that swept me away, and the dazzling costumes – I truly felt transported to a different world!
The first act opened with a flurry of graceful movement – a vibrant explosion of colour in every step, and oh my, the pink! Think cascading pink tulle and feathers, an ethereal pink gauze draped effortlessly over dancers, the lightest, softest pink shimmering beneath the stage lights. And the lead dancer! Well, let me just say, her performance was simply mesmerising! Every pirouette, every leap, was poetry in motion!
Speaking of amazing experiences, before the show I managed to squeeze in a Ballet and Brunch class in Chelsea. Now, you're probably thinking, how can you be in a ballet class and eat brunch simultaneously? Well, my lovely followers, it's actually even more fabulous than it sounds! We had a light and healthy brunch, and then it was all tutus and plies for a blissful hour, followed by a quick visit to a charming, little bakery that filled my sweet tooth!
Speaking of sweet things, the cherry on top of my New York weekend was a charming visit to the M&M World store – I am not a chocoholic by any means (perhaps a little guilty of enjoying a peppermint cream occasionally!), but that rainbow wonderland! Oh, my! I was quite mesmerized, but nothing was going to stop me from finding my signature pink bag of M&Ms – the best thing? I can always convince my Mum and Dad that they were purchased for a special occasion or someone's birthday. Don't worry darling readers, you already know I love to treat myself – after all, there is nothing better than being nice to yourself!
Speaking of indulgence… this leads me neatly to a little something I’ve been planning for quite a while, I'm absolutely over the moon to announce that I'll be hosting my first Pink Tutu Tea Party here in New York City next month! Yes, that's right! Imagine this: a beautiful summer's day, afternoon tea served with delicate pastries and dainty finger sandwiches, all in a gloriously pink setting. Can you imagine it?! There will be a pink tutu-wearing competition, a raffle with amazing pink-themed prizes, and let's just say I've got some fun surprises up my sleeve. More details are coming soon!
Well darlings, this brings me to the end of another fabulous blog post! It’s time to get back to reality and find my next pink ensemble, after all, life is just too short to blend into the background – it's time to let your pink tutu fly!
Until next Monday,
Emma xx
