Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post Number 534 - New York, New York, August 29th, 2005

Hello my lovelies!

Welcome back to another Monday with Pink Tutu Blog NYC! I'm absolutely bursting with excitement about this week, because as you all know, I'm currently in New York City! This beautiful metropolis never fails to make me giddy with joy, and today is a day I’ve been eagerly awaiting - I'm going to see "A Chorus Line" at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre! Can you imagine the iconic pink tutu outfits those dancers are rocking?! I've even got my own super sparkly pink tutu prepared to give the dancers some serious costume inspiration. (More about my extra look in a moment.)

Getting around the Big Apple:

Of course, no day in New York City is complete without a delightful ride on the subway. Let’s just say the pink tutu really makes a splash in those carriages - I always get a friendly nod or a compliment on my fashion choices. The people of NYC are just so receptive to the pink tutu vibes!

Speaking of vibes, the energy here is contagious! It's all about hustle and bustle, finding hidden gems in shops, and absorbing every single detail of this incredible city. This week, I’ve fallen head over heels with the little bookshops on Broadway. Each one has such unique characters and beautiful stacks of old tomes waiting to be discovered.

Fashion Find of the Day:

I have to share my fabulous fashion find from yesterday! I stumbled across a little boutique in the West Village with the most exquisite vintage hats. It took me a good half hour of browsing, but finally, I settled on a wide-brimmed hat, adorned with fluffy pink feathers. The lady in the shop assured me it’s a real vintage gem and perfect for the ballet - what do you think? I’m sure you’ll be seeing a post all about this beautiful hat and my pink tutu pairing soon.

More Than Just Tutus in NYC:

But hey, I’m not just about twirling in my tutu all day long (although that is absolutely an option!). There are so many other fun activities I love doing in New York! On my break today, I ventured to the stunning Central Park to catch a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's the perfect escape and a fabulous spot for a photo shoot with my trusty tutu. I even managed to snag some shots by the iconic Bethesda Fountain. Just imagine the ballerina pictures we could capture - a vision of pink, the fountain's artistry, and the sunshine dancing through the leaves of the trees - perfection!

Ballet is a Big Part of My Trip:

Okay, let's talk about why I'm really in NYC. Yes, I’m a huge fashion fan and love the vibrancy of this city, but my heart belongs to ballet. Tonight, I'll be joining my favourite dance class at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. I always feel a sense of home whenever I enter a dance studio, and I've discovered some truly inspiring talent in this class. Oh, the moves and the dedication of these dancers are astounding. Just hearing them whisper "5, 6, 7, 8" as they seamlessly navigate the floor gives me goosebumps!

I'm Bringing a Piece of Derbyshire to NYC:

Being away from my little corner of Derbyshire, the beautiful Peak District, can sometimes feel a bit strange. But this weekend I decided to throw a little "English Tea Party" in my apartment to get a little bit of home in my NYC adventure. I put on the kettle, made scones, and even brought some classic English teacakes. Even though my little tea party was only with myself, it’s important for me to remember my roots and bring a piece of home to my New York travels.

And Of Course...It's All About The Pink Tutu:

And as you've come to expect, pink tutus play a major part in all my plans, especially my upcoming performances! This weekend, I'm excited to share my latest masterpiece – a tutu-inspired outfit designed for a ballet fundraiser that’ll take place at the iconic Lincoln Center. My design is a dazzling combination of soft pink satin and a unique feather trim – the kind of elegance and drama I think everyone would love to wear! I can’t wait to see everyone rocking their own fabulous pink tutu interpretations for the charity event - It'll be an absolute symphony of pink!

Pink Tutu Vibes Are Spreading!

And don't forget about Pink Tutu's mission, darlings – getting everyone wearing a pink tutu! It's catching on like wildfire – everywhere I go, people are rocking their own personal interpretations. I've even spotted a couple of mums and daughters twinning in their favourite pink tutus on the streets. Honestly, there's nothing more heartwarming than witnessing the joy a pink tutu can bring.

Join me next week for more Pink Tutu NYC!

Stay tuned, darling, because next week I'll be sharing all about the charity fundraiser and my incredible “A Chorus Line” experience! You're also in for a treat next Monday, as I’ll be sharing all my favourite pink tutu-worthy fashion finds in NYC - because what trip would be complete without shopping, right?

As always, don't forget to stay fabulous and follow my adventures on Instagram @PinkTutuNYC.

Until next time!

Love,

Emma xxx

P.S. If you're reading this and are in New York, you can totally catch me in my pink tutu! Just keep your eyes peeled - I’ll be on a mission to make sure everyone sees and feels the Pink Tutu magic!
