A Derbyshire Girl In The City That Never Sleeps 🌃
Stepping off the plane in New York, the first thing I did was grab a taxi and head straight for my gorgeous hotel in Greenwich Village. Honestly, the whole place feels like something straight out of a movie! The vibe is just so New York - chic, edgy, and bursting with life.
Now, I'm sure you're all wondering - how did I get to experience the magic of New York City, a trip which cost a small fortune? Well, my darling readers, it all came down to a few fantastic ballet performances. Remember when I told you about that upcoming production of 'Giselle'? Well, after giving a knockout performance, I was able to secure some generous funding, which, wouldn't you know it, was perfect for financing this amazing trip! And let me tell you, the thrill of being on stage, dancing my heart out, then using that very energy to explore this fabulous city... It was pure bliss!
Taking The Subway To The Ballet 🚇
Of course, no trip to New York is complete without a spin on the famous subway! The rumble, the smells, the cacophony of people - I absolutely loved it! Plus, it gave me the opportunity to spot some fantastic fashion in action! Now, I don't know about you guys, but I find the whole underground fashion scene incredibly fascinating. New Yorkers really know how to make a statement even while commuting! I definitely took a few style notes, and may even add a few of these street-style inspirations to my upcoming fashion blog posts! 😉
A Day Of Broadway Bound Fun 🌟
One of the most exciting days on my itinerary was a trip to see 'The Phantom of the Opera' on Broadway! Oh my goodness, the theatre was absolutely stunning, the costumes were incredible, and the performance itself was breathtaking. Seeing such iconic, old-school Broadway theatre gave me goosebumps! As I watched the actors glide effortlessly across the stage, I couldn't help but think how lucky I am to be able to experience this magical world, even if it's just from the audience's perspective.
The Ballet Class In Central Park 🩰🌳
Before venturing into the city's concrete jungle, I couldn't resist squeezing in a morning ballet class, set amongst the vibrant greens of Central Park. This, ladies and gentlemen, was truly a magical moment! Imagine me, in my pink tutu, gracefully pirouetting beneath the Manhattan skyline, with the sounds of birdsong and children laughing creating a magical backdrop! The whole scene was just so perfectly 'New York'! I think I even spotted a couple of squirrels trying to follow along with our ballet steps - adorable!
The Big Apple Has Never Seen Such Pink! 🍎💖
This wouldn't be a 'Pink Tutu' blog without mentioning my fashion finds, and let's just say, New York did not disappoint! I found a dazzling collection of outfits and accessories that have completely reignited my love of pink. Now, we all know I love pink, but this trip has just fuelled that passion! Think satin pumps, sequin-dusted handbags, feather boas (don't judge!), and enough pink lace to make your heart sing. Plus, I found the cutest pair of tutu-inspired ballet flats! They're pink, of course, with a little tutu-like ruffle at the back, so darling! Honestly, you guys, it's pink overload, and I am here for it!
A New Yorker's Guide To Tutus 🗽
Remember that little ambition of mine, the one where I want everyone in the world wearing pink tutus? Well, I'm working on a new project! It's called 'New York City Tutu Tours', and it's basically my attempt at convincing every single New Yorker to don a tutu! My ultimate dream? To lead a parade of tutus through Times Square! Wouldn't that be something?! Just picture it - a vibrant flash of pink against the backdrop of New York's most iconic landmarks. Now that would be a sight to behold!
