Hello lovelies! 👋 It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, city-exploring ballerina, and today I'm back in the vibrant, exciting, oh-so-inspiring metropolis that is New York City! 💖 This is the sixth week of my adventure in this iconic city, and it just keeps getting better and better! 🗽

The Magic of Movement: A Dance Delight
This past Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of seeing "Giselle" at the Metropolitan Opera House. Now, for anyone who hasn't seen this masterpiece, let me tell you, it is pure magic. The costumes were spectacular - all delicate tulle and glittering beading. I mean, what could be better than seeing those beautiful tutus up close? Not to mention the absolutely breathtaking choreography! The whole performance was a feast for the eyes and a joy to the soul. It left me feeling utterly inspired, my heart overflowing with the power and beauty of dance. 🥰
And speaking of dance, I just have to tell you about the American Ballet Theatre class I attended last week! I love nothing more than learning from talented dancers who push my own boundaries. The energy in that studio was electrifying! I found myself totally lost in the moment, forgetting all about the stresses of everyday life and just focusing on the sheer joy of movement. It's these experiences, these moments of pure, unadulterated bliss, that make all the effort truly worthwhile.
Fashion Feast: New York's Shopping Scene
As you all know, New York is a fashion mecca, and this week, I fully embraced that reputation. I wandered through the labyrinthine aisles of Macy's, my senses overwhelmed by the endless rows of colour, texture, and style. I snagged a few delightful new pieces, including a stunningly chic pink satin scarf and a pair of oh-so-comfortable ballet flats (a must-have for any city explorer).
But my favourite find of the week was tucked away in a tiny, independent boutique on the Upper East Side. It was called "The Tutu Boutique", and I felt like I had walked into a whimsical wonderland! There were tutus of every colour, shape, and size you could imagine – think tulle, silk, velvet, even sequins! I felt like a princess stepping into a magical fairytale! I even indulged in a gorgeous pink tulle tutu for myself – a perfect souvenir to remember this incredible trip. ✨
A Foodie's Paradise: From Cupcakes to Croissants
One thing I've discovered about New York is that there's a restaurant or café for every mood, and let's just say my mood has been decidedly "hungry" all week. 🤪 From steaming cups of coffee at "Cafe Luxembourg" to juicy slices of pizza at "Joe's Pizza" to delectable pastries at "Magnolia Bakery", I've been sampling everything this city has to offer.
Oh, and the best part? I've found my perfect "pink tutu brunch spot"! It's called "Alice's Tea Cup" – think dainty teacups, perfectly fluffy scones, and oh-so-cute, Instagrammable pink decor. What's not to love? 🥰
City Exploration: The Metro's Magic
You all know my love for a good metro ride! It's the best way to soak in the city's pulse and discover hidden gems. This week, I hopped on the L train to Brooklyn, where I spent the afternoon strolling through the hip streets of Williamsburg and taking in the street art. 🎨
My favourite spot? A vibrant, little ballet studio hidden away in a quiet corner of Brooklyn called "The Dancing Flamingo." It's a hidden gem for dancers and tutu lovers alike! I'm even thinking of joining a drop-in class next week, who knows what I might learn! 🤔
A Bit of Derbyshire in New York
So, you may be wondering how a girl from Derbyshire, England ends up in the heart of New York City. Well, the story started a long time ago, with a little girl and a passion for pink and twirling! From the moment I was able to walk, I was already in my first tutu, captivated by the grace and power of ballet.
I trained diligently, performing in local theatre shows, and slowly but surely, I started to achieve my dreams. Eventually, I began touring internationally, supporting myself with my ballet work and letting my performances carry me to some of the world's most amazing destinations. Now, here I am in New York, my dream city, spreading the love for all things pink, feminine, and tutu-rific.
