Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post 637 – New York, New York! (Monday 2007-08-20)

Hello darlings!

It’s Monday, and that means a fresh week, a fresh post, and another glorious adventure for your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller! Today I’m bursting with excitement as I bring you all the dazzling delights from my latest whirlwind week in the Big Apple. As always, I’ve been working hard to make a little extra tutu-tastic cash, performing at the stunning Broadway Dance Center, but that’s not all! This week has been filled with enough thrills to fill a dozen pink tutus… let me tell you, darling!

First off, let's talk about New York City fashion! Oh my goodness, the energy in this city is absolutely electric. The streets are a runway, and I’m just a little pink tutu-wearing ballerina strolling down the avenues. This week I’ve been soaking up the inspiration, and I’ve got to tell you, it’s like a fashion feast for the senses. Every corner holds a new gem – the latest in chic shoes at Bergdorf Goodman, the trendiest statement jewellery at Anthropologie, and a kaleidoscope of colours and fabrics just begging to be part of my wardrobe.

And I must tell you, darlings, my favourite shopping destination this week? The Bloomingdale’s on Lexington Avenue! It’s simply divine, a paradise for fashion lovers! I felt like I’d stepped onto the set of a fashion magazine – dazzling displays, beautifully curated collections, and endless inspiration! I may have found a few irresistible treasures to add to my pink tutu-inspired collection!

But it’s not all about the clothes, you know! New York City’s cultural scene is as dazzling as a diamond – from its incredible theatres and world-class ballet companies, to the vibrant art galleries and stunning museums, it truly is a feast for the senses. This week I found myself drawn to the vibrant energy of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

I got the most magical opportunity to see “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with the New York Philharmonic! Oh my, it was simply divine – the orchestra was sensational, and the dancers from the New York City Ballet were enchanting! The stage was bathed in a dreamy, shimmering light that felt like stepping into a fairy tale!

It’s incredible to see ballet presented with such sophistication and passion in this city. It really inspires me!

Speaking of inspiration, darlings, it’s impossible to visit New York without catching a Broadway show! And this week, I was lucky enough to snag tickets for the “Lion King”!

Oh darling, I’m telling you, the costumes and stagecraft were truly spectacular, I’m not sure I can fully describe the magic. The energy was electrifying, and the actors were so incredibly talented. I left the theatre feeling so uplifted and inspired. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to see a musical the same way again!

I also found some fantastic vintage ballet shoes at a quirky little shop in Soho this week. Oh darling, they were so perfectly worn and they had this beautiful patina to them! The seller told me they had belonged to a former member of the New York City Ballet! How lovely!

You know, dear readers, New York City has really got a hold of my heart – its vibrancy, its excitement, and of course, it's breathtaking beauty! I find myself captivated by the hustle and bustle of the streets, the incredible fashion, and the city’s passionate love affair with the performing arts!

However, after a long week in the city that never sleeps, even a pink tutu-clad ballerina needs a moment of quiet contemplation.

I always make time for a visit to Central Park, a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city. The trees provide a welcome escape from the bright city lights, and it’s a delightful place to simply soak in the scenery and get a little lost in the beauty of nature!

Oh darling, this city inspires me like no other! I can't imagine a more thrilling place to explore!

Speaking of exploration, what would a trip to New York be without experiencing its world-renowned underground transportation? The New York City subway is a must-do for every visitor!

As a ballet dancer, I am all too familiar with moving quickly from point A to point B – you could say the hustle and bustle of the New York subway is something I am rather accustomed to. It’s actually rather glamorous when you think about it. A whirlwind journey through the beating heart of the city – always keeping that pink tutu neat and wrinkle-free, naturally!

You never quite know who you'll meet in those bustling carriages! Just yesterday, a little girl in a tutu came bounding up to me and excitedly pointed to mine. She looked so absolutely adorable and I told her how gorgeous her pink tutu looked, darling, you know me and my love of pink tutus!

I try to spread my tutu-love everywhere I go, you see, especially with little girls, it's so delightful to encourage them to express their individuality and embrace their own unique sense of style! It really makes my heart soar!

I believe in the power of tutus to make the world a brighter, happier, and more joyful place, and my goal is to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu! It may be a big goal, darling, but nothing's too big when you believe in yourself, just like me.

Remember to keep checking in with my pink-tutu.com blog – every Monday for a new exciting adventure in the amazing world of pink tutus!

Until next time, darling!

Sending love and tutu-licious kisses!
