Hello my lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing blogger, Emma, back with a fresh new post from the vibrant and bustling city of New York. I'm currently tucked away in my chic little apartment in Greenwich Village, with a steaming mug of English Breakfast tea and the scent of freshly bloomed hydrangeas drifting in through the open window. It’s a pretty picture, isn’t it? The perfect start to what promises to be a most exciting week.

For those of you new to the pink tutu world, this is my weekly dose of NYC adventures, all in my favourite shade of pink – yes, I mean pink! It’s a delightful blend of tutu-themed tales, fashion discoveries, glimpses of the magnificent ballet scene, and everything in between that’s got a dash of glamour and sparkle. So grab a slice of your favourite cake (or a cupcake – because New York has them in every flavour imaginable!), get comfortable, and let's dive into this week’s adventure…

This week started with a whirl, literally! It all began at 6 am when my alarm clock went off, prompting a little pre-dawn dance around my apartment (yes, it’s a daily ritual) before packing my pink duffel bag. My heart was aflutter with anticipation as I caught the morning train from my home in Derbyshire, England, towards London’s Heathrow.

Oh, my lovelies, how I do adore a good metro journey! From the bustling underground of London to the iconic subway system here in NYC, there’s something absolutely charming about hurtling through a city in this underground fashion. I just love the clanging noises, the glimpse of a different world outside the train window, and the quiet moment to slip into my own little ballet dream.

Of course, a little pink never hurt anyone, so I paired my comfy travelling clothes with my favourite light-pink shawl and, you guessed it – my pink ballet slippers! Who needs a suitcase full of high heels when you have a trusty pair of pink ballet flats, eh? They’re versatile enough for exploring cobbled streets, hopping on and off the subway, and twirling gracefully, and for a girl like me, that’s all the luggage I need!

After a seamless flight across the Atlantic (I just can't help but smile at the idea of crossing oceans in a metal bird!), I was in NYC, ready to explore the magic of this remarkable city! Stepping out of the airport and into the welcoming, yet cool, air of Manhattan felt like a dream come true.

First stop: Central Park! As the city's emerald heart, Central Park felt like a little piece of heaven. It's the perfect place for a leisurely stroll while indulging in my guilty pleasure - people watching! The sheer variety of outfits and people was incredible. It’s fascinating how the park becomes this melting pot of stories and styles. And don’t get me started on the birds! I swear they even sing in harmony. It's enough to make any tutu-loving blogger’s heart soar!

Next, it was time for a shopping spree! Let’s face it, no trip to NYC is complete without hitting some of those iconic department stores, right? The sheer variety of clothing and the chance to pick out unique pieces from designers all over the globe just made my head spin! This trip, I indulged in a vibrant orange scarf that was calling my name and a lovely floral hat with a touch of pink, naturally. I even picked up a couple of shimmering tulle skirts to give my wardrobe a bit of NYC flair – they are going to look fabulous with my tutu collection!

Of course, this trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to see a ballet performance! I mean, I wouldn’t be Emma the Ballerina without making time for my passion, right? This time, I'm thrilled to be attending the New York City Ballet at the Lincoln Center. They're putting on Romeo and Juliet, one of my all-time favourite ballets! Oh, the emotions, the costumes, the passion, the stories – it’s going to be incredible!

For tonight’s performance, I’m sporting a beautiful deep purple gown with delicate ruffles that match my ballet flats, topped off with a feather boa for a touch of old-world Hollywood glamour. I've even planned my makeup around the theme! There’s no need for anything else but a touch of rose blush and red lipstick for a dash of Victorian romance.

I can't wait to share the experience with you all tomorrow – a dedicated post is on its way. Imagine, the energy of NYC, the beauty of the ballet, the dazzling performance…it’s going to be unforgettable!
