Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post 894 - A New York Fairy Tale! 🩰💖

Hello, lovelies! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog NYC, your weekly dose of pink, tutus, and all things fabulous! It's Monday, 23rd July, 2012, and I'm brimming with excitement after another whirlwind weekend in the city that never sleeps. And by whirlwind, I mean a perfect mix of tutus, Broadway magic, and some seriously spectacular shopping sprees.

Before I delve into the details of this week's adventures, I wanted to mention something very special: I'm currently performing in a small but gorgeous ballet show, "The Secret Garden" at a beautiful theatre in Brooklyn! I've been fundraising through ballet performances to make my New York dreams a reality, and seeing this project come to fruition has been simply magical.

Speaking of magical, this weekend's escapades began with a journey deep into the heart of New York's cultural hub - the glorious Lincoln Center! The ballet performances here are like nothing else, the dancers are incredible, and the whole atmosphere is electric with anticipation and elegance. I was completely swept away by "The Sleeping Beauty" on Saturday night - it was a pure masterpiece! Watching those incredible dancers bring the tale of the sleeping princess to life was like a dream.

But, New York isn't just about grand theatre experiences! I love exploring the city's vibrant neighbourhoods, too, and this weekend was no exception. A walk through Greenwich Village was filled with art, cafes, and adorable shops, making me want to grab a cappuccino and people-watch for hours.

The true highlight, though, was discovering a secret little vintage shop tucked away on a side street in SoHo. Imagine a world where dusty antique shops and bohemian fashion collides with the elegance of ballet! It's my new haven! Amongst the stacks of antique books and old suitcases, I unearthed the most amazing pink tulle dress, fit for a fairytale princess, and adorned with the most delicate lace. It's definitely my new favourite dress for twirling and taking in the sights of New York!

And let's not forget the ever-present enchantment of ballet street, the ultimate way to immerse yourself in the art of movement! It was in Washington Square Park on Saturday where I finally felt at home, with fellow dance enthusiasts sharing their love for movement.

Being in New York, you can't help but feel a surge of inspiration, and I felt a real urge to channel that creativity back home to Derbyshire, where I started this entire journey. I am brainstorming a new ballet performance, a celebration of femininity, movement and of course, lots of tutus! It’s gonna be grand!

As always, I’ve taken hundreds of photos and videos of all my fun, which I’ll be posting on my Instagram throughout the week. You can find me at @PinkTutuEmma.

Oh, and before I forget! Don’t forget to pop over to my website, www.pink-tutu.com for a full photo gallery of this weekend’s adventures and to catch up on past posts.

Until next Monday, lovelies! Keep those tutus twirling, and remember, every day is an opportunity to find your own magical moments in the Big Apple! 💖🩰

Love,

Emma
