From Derbyshire to the Big Apple - It's Tutu Time!
As a proud Derbyshirian gal, who knew I'd find myself dancing my way through the concrete jungle of New York City? It feels like just yesterday I was pirouetting across the stage at the local theatre, dreaming of dazzling lights and grand stages. And guess what? Those dreams are coming true, one sparkly pink tutu at a time!
Funding this fabulous adventure is all thanks to the magic of dance. You see, I perform at a range of events – from elegant galas to charming tea parties – to help finance my city-hopping escapades. I'm not just a blogger, I'm a performer, a fashionista, and a total dream chaser.
Taking the Metro in a Tutu: A Fashion Statement in Motion!
My trusty metro card is my passport to discovering hidden gems and iconic landmarks. It's my absolute favourite mode of transport - cheap, efficient and a prime location for showcasing my pink tutus! As the train whizzes through the tunnels, I feel like I'm transported through a vibrant storybook, each station a new chapter.
This week, the vibrant colours of Autumn painted the city in a fiery blaze of crimson, gold, and orange. It was truly inspiring! I decided to embrace the season by choosing a scarlet pink tutu, with a touch of fiery orange sequins. My bright, smiling face reflected in the mirrored panels inside the carriages, and I noticed a couple of fellow passengers give me a little smile. I even had a guy do a little twirl with me near Times Square!
It's all about having fun, embracing your individuality, and letting your inner tutu fairy shine, wherever you are. My motto is "Spread the Pink Tutu Love" - you can’t go wrong with a little bit of pink magic, right?
Broadway Glamour: A Tutu at the Theatre
Speaking of magic, no trip to NYC is complete without a Broadway show! This time, I snagged a prime seat for the stunning musical, "Hamilton". What a spectacle!
The stage design was out of this world, the costumes were incredible, and the energy of the performers was electric. I even saw a few members of the audience bursting out into song at some points, which was just fantastic.
I went for a tutu in classic "Hamilton" colours – black, gold, and crimson - to blend in with the energy of the show and celebrate the musical's iconic history. I sported my tutu during the entire show! And you know what? No one batted an eyelid! Everyone was just immersed in the show's magical atmosphere. And you know, a good tutu works wonders when you're waiting in long queues. It certainly brightens things up!
The Art of Fashion: From Tutus to NYC's Boutiques
Shopping in New York City is a delight, a kaleidoscope of colours and styles to explore. This week, I took my trusty pink tote bag (of course adorned with a little sparkly pink bow!) and set off for a fashion escapade through SoHo and Tribeca.
My pink tutus made shopping adventures all the more fun. The girls in the boutiques always got a kick out of my look and started chatting to me about their fashion inspiration, their latest designs and everything in-between. I felt like a stylish pink princess amongst them.
I snagged a stunning pink leather jacket with intricate embroidery. You know I had to pair it with a delicate pale pink tutu! I also picked up some gorgeous pink heels and a beautiful vintage brooch, a real statement piece with a little heart in the centre, perfect for adding a touch of sparkle to my outfit.
I love how fashion connects everyone. It's an expressive form of art that allows us to unleash our individuality. I love that everyone's different in the world of fashion - there are no boundaries when it comes to self-expression.

You know what? Just today, while walking across Central Park in my pink tutu, I bumped into a group of kids and got them to join in a tutu dance! It was absolutely hilarious and infectious! It's amazing to see that the pink tutu magic truly has the power to bring smiles to every face.
