Pink Tutu Blog: New York City, Monday 2014-02-17 (Post #976)

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you a blast of sunshine from the Big Apple! As you all know, I adore exploring new cities and finding the perfect pink tutu to match their vibe. This week, I'm channeling all things New York City – think skyscrapers, Broadway shows, and of course, endless opportunities for fabulous fashion!

A Derbyshire Girl's New York Dream

Stepping off the metro onto the bustling sidewalks of Manhattan, it's hard not to feel a tingle of excitement. It's amazing how such a big city feels so full of energy, and I'm definitely soaking it all in.

For a girl from Derbyshire, living this glamorous city life is truly a dream come true. You all know how much I love tutus – there's just something magical about swirling around in layers of tulle. And the streets of New York City seem to be the perfect setting for twirling in my pinkest, most fabulous creations.

This week, I've been getting my dose of the classic New York ballet experience at the New York City Ballet – they truly put on a stunning show. Watching their elegance and grace makes me want to spend hours in the studio myself! (Spoiler alert: I'll definitely be hitting up some classes this week!)

Exploring the City that Never Sleeps

What's better than a Broadway show after a ballet performance? Honestly, I can't imagine a more perfect New York evening. This week, I got to see "Kinky Boots" and, oh my gosh, it was a total blast! The costumes, the dancing, the storyline, everything was fabulous! There was even a hint of pink – I mean, come on, even in the most unexpected places, pink always makes an appearance!

You can't come to New York without indulging in some shopping! I spent a delightful afternoon wandering through Macy's and oohing and aahing over all the beautiful designer dresses and shoes. Who can resist a good sale? Of course, I left with a bag full of new fashion treasures – perfect for all my upcoming ballet performances, of course!

And as you all know, I am obsessed with finding the best pink tutus wherever I travel. So, after an exciting day at Macy's, I made my way to Henri Bendel, one of the city's oldest and most stylish department stores. I had my eye on this exquisite pink tulle skirt - the perfect shade of pink! It’s got me seriously considering an impromptu pink tutu performance in Times Square… just imagine!

Sharing my Pink Tutu Love with the World

My goal in life is to inspire everyone to wear a pink tutu. Every woman has a ballerina inside them, and pink is the most fun way to bring her out. Every single outfit looks more exciting with a hint of pink tulle. I've noticed here in New York that people aren't afraid to embrace their individual style and look fantastic doing it!

I just love how the city's streets seem to echo the movements of the dancers onstage, as everyone gracefully glides and twirls in their own way. It's an absolute dream!

But Enough about Me… What's On This Week?

Speaking of dreams, there's so much happening this week!

  • The Lincoln Center is hosting a series of classical music concerts. I'm all about embracing the artistic side of life!
  • For the adventurous dancers out there, there's a free ballet workshop in Central Park – oh my gosh, just imagine twirling amidst the trees in a beautiful pink tutu!
  • The Met Opera is showcasing a captivating production of “La Traviata.” Don't miss it!

I am so excited to be a part of this city's vibrant energy. Be sure to follow along on Instagram, Twitter and my other social media channels, where I'll be posting updates, photos, and maybe even some short video snippets of my ballet performances throughout the week!

Stay tuned, my darlings, and don't forget to always add a touch of pink to your life!

With love,

Emma xoxo
