Hello darlings, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! It's Monday, which means a fresh dose of NYC glamour and adventures straight from my pink tutu-clad heart! Today's post is extra special because, guess what? I'm dancing my way through New York City, a city that truly embodies the spirit of the tutu! 💖
A Derby Girl in the Concrete Jungle:
This week, I’m bringing a touch of Derbyshire to the Big Apple, showcasing my own unique style against the backdrop of bustling avenues and dazzling lights. I have to say, I do love the energy that the city pulses with! There's this exciting, unstoppable rhythm that makes me want to pirouette around every corner. It's not quite the countryside calmness of my hometown, but then again, where's the fun in that? 😉
New York, New York!
Right now, I’m perched in my hotel room with a stunning view of Central Park. Can you believe I’m in the very heart of New York? Just moments away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square! To be honest, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed but in the most magical way possible. Everything is just so...extra! 😉
My Week in the City that Never Sleeps
My journey started with a charmingly chaotic flight. Imagine, I managed to find myself next to a couple, you know, the kind that talk loudly about the best pizza in Brooklyn. Luckily, I'm all for gossip and, even better, food chat! 🍕 I promised myself a slice of that amazing-sounding pizza at my earliest convenience. Speaking of gossip... did you hear the rumour about the new ballet studio opening in Soho? Oh, I'm just dying to check it out, perhaps a little shopping and then, of course, ballet class!
* Ballet Bliss in Brooklyn:*
Since I arrived, I've been absolutely loving my daily metro rides. That rush hour chaos feels exhilarating, with all that vibrant energy coursing through the stations! Last night, I hopped on a train, (and managed to avoid accidentally leaving my phone in one of those little seats – win!), to catch the most breathtaking performance at the Brooklyn Ballet. The choreography was absolutely mesmerizing! It was like they were telling a story through their movements – beautiful, heart-wrenching, and powerful. It reminded me that the power of dance transcends words. Truly magical, you know? ✨
The Empire State of Pink Tutús
And speaking of magical, this week, I decided to give the most iconic structure in the city a little pink makeover! 😉 Don’t worry, no paint or graffiti, darling! I simply slipped on my prettiest, pinkest tutu, found a spot under the iconic Empire State Building, and took the most magnificent photographs! My new mission – get everyone in NYC wearing pink tutus! You know what they say... the impossible is nothing!
My City of Dreams... and Pink Tutús!
Of course, no trip to New York would be complete without a whirlwind of shopping, darling! Today, I spent the afternoon at Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom, scouring the racks for the perfect dress to wear to this fab, high-society gala this evening. You see, a close friend of mine asked me to accompany her. We’re gonna have such a fantastic evening! ✨
An Enchanting Gala
I ended the night feeling completely and utterly glamorous. The gala was pure glitz and glamour with all the big-shot designers and the stars of Broadway in attendance. It felt like walking into one of those fabulous old Hollywood films, just missing Cary Grant or Gregory Peck by a hair! I spent the evening feeling like a princess (because who needs a prince when you've got a pink tutu? Right? 😉)
