Pink Tutu Blog: New York City Adventures - Post 1062!

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog, your one-stop shop for all things pink, sparkly, and tutu-licious!

It's Monday, October 12th, 2015, and I'm bursting with excitement after an absolutely dazzling weekend in the Big Apple. Let me tell you, New York City just never fails to amaze!

Pink Tutu in the City That Never Sleeps

I arrived on Friday morning, all bundled up in a ridiculously fluffy pink coat that made me feel like a marshmallow (with a dash of fabulousness, naturally!), ready to take on this enchanting city.

As soon as my feet touched the pavement, I knew I was in for a treat. I've been to New York City before, but this time felt different. The energy was buzzing, the autumn leaves were starting to change colour, and the smell of hot dogs and pizza was absolutely intoxicating!

Of course, no trip to New York is complete without a good old-fashioned shopping spree! I headed straight to Bloomingdale's, where I spent hours getting lost in the world of haute couture and the prettiest pink dresses I'd ever seen. Let's just say, my credit card might have taken a little bit of a beating, but it was all in the name of pink, darling!

A Ballet Dream Come True

One of the highlights of my trip was definitely catching the final night of the American Ballet Theatre's performance of "Giselle." You can't imagine how excited I was! It was like all my ballerina dreams came true.

The costumes were breathtaking, the music was pure magic, and the dancers were simply incredible. The passion and grace with which they moved were breathtaking, leaving me completely mesmerized for the whole two and a half hours. I almost started pirouetting down the aisle during the curtain call! It really did make me miss dancing and it gave me so much inspiration. I love seeing how such brilliant ballerinas do their craft - it motivates me to get back in the studio!

From The Met To Times Square

The next day, I went for a long wander around Central Park. The leaves were starting to turn crimson and golden, and the whole atmosphere was so peaceful. I even managed to spot a couple of squirrels having a tea party! Well, I imagine they were having tea – they looked awfully sophisticated while munching on acorns.

Later that afternoon, I decided to hit up the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a must-see for any art lover. I spent hours browsing their extensive collection, particularly marvelling at the medieval and modern art collections. The sheer scale and scope of it left me utterly speechless!

For a complete contrast to the quiet majesty of the Met, I spent the evening soaking up the dazzling lights of Times Square. That energy was almost overwhelming - all those flashing lights and screens are definitely designed to dazzle, wow, and overload! Even with a pink tutu in the throng of people I felt so much part of this busy city. New Yorkers just go about their day like it's no big deal!

Back to London: Reflecting on Pink Tutu Dreams

Sunday afternoon, and it was time to say goodbye to New York City. As I hopped on the subway, I was filled with a little bit of sadness, but mostly I was just excited to share all of my amazing experiences with you lovely lot. The journey from London to New York by plane may have taken ages but the metro ride across the city took no time at all! I can never get used to the noise and hustle and bustle of the subway.

Back home in Derbyshire, I've had a few days to catch up and think about all that I’ve seen. The energy and enthusiasm of New York was truly inspiring. I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience everything that the city has to offer – from world-class ballet to awe-inspiring museums and buzzing markets, it truly has something for everyone.

I love to travel and I love to dance and New York gave me such wonderful moments. It helped to remind me that my own Pink Tutu dreams are just as valid! Whether you're passionate about art, fashion, or just finding the perfect shade of pink lipstick, don’t be afraid to follow your dreams. Who knows, you might even find yourself dancing down Fifth Avenue with a tutu!

Stay fabulous! Love, Emma xxx
