#PinkTutuBlogNYC Monday 2015-11-23: Dancing Dreams in the Big Apple! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐ŸŽ

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you another delightful dose of pink-tutu-infused adventures from the glorious city that never sleeps. This week, I'm absolutely overflowing with excitement, as this marks my 1068th blog post from my New York City adventure! I can't believe how much has happened since I first donned my pink tutu and jumped aboard the subway to this incredible metropolis. Every day is a fairytale, and I'm just delighted to share it all with you.

As always, this week has been an absolute whirl. It began with a ballet class at the fabulous Dance Theatre of Harlem, where I twirled and leaped my way to a state of pure bliss. It's truly a joy to immerse myself in the energy of this wonderful city, and I found myself inspired by the raw talent and passion I witnessed. After class, I couldn't resist grabbing a bite of the most delicious New York-style pizza, which was, of course, enjoyed in my pink tutu. (Why ever not?)

But it wasn't all ballet this week! Oh no, I've also had the incredible opportunity to experience a truly extraordinary theatrical production โ€“ a play that took me to the moon and back! You might not know this, but I have a secret soft spot for anything remotely lunar. The show was dazzling, a complete sensory overload in the best way possible, and I even spotted a fellow tutu enthusiast in the audience! (It's just magic how we find each other in the most unexpected places.)

Now, for a true treat, this week's shopping spree took me to the heart of SoHo, a neighbourhood renowned for its vintage treasures. I absolutely adore combing through racks of vintage garments and unearthed designer pieces. You never know what hidden gems you might discover โ€“ this time it was a beautifully beaded flapper dress, perfect for twirling around a speakeasy! And, naturally, I found the perfect shade of pink to add to my tutu collection - a shimmering silk, reminiscent of the NYC skyline at sunset.

You're probably thinking, "Emma, you've only just begun telling us about your adventures!" and you'd be absolutely right, darling! To complete the perfect day, I had to indulge in one of my all-time favourite things in New York City โ€“ an elegant high tea. The charming tea room, with its twinkling chandeliers and velvet booths, was absolutely charming, and I felt like a true princess. I devoured every last crumb, sipping my tea with dainty grace โ€“ after all, what's a high tea without a perfect pink tutu?

This whole trip has been such a whirl of emotions and incredible experiences, and it makes me ever so happy to share it all with you. But I know what you're thinking - "Emma, how do you make it all happen?". It's simple, darling! I have the privilege of using my skills as a professional ballerina to fund my travels and create a truly spectacular life, dancing my way around the globe. The joy of performing, the thrill of bringing the magic of dance to audiences โ€“ it's the absolute best!

Of course, the true key to making all this happen is finding ways to bring a bit of sparkle to the mundane. That's why, in my eyes, a pink tutu is more than just a garment; it's a symbol of confidence, joy, and limitless imagination! And the beauty of it is, you don't need to be a professional ballerina to embrace the joy of a pink tutu. I've always believed that the most special things are often the simplest. A pink tutu is a little slice of magic, a reminder that it's perfectly alright to embrace your inner child and live life with boundless passion!

So, dear reader, don't let the world steal your twinkle! Grab a tutu and let your inner dancer shine bright!

As I bid you farewell, darling readers, I want to leave you with a little something extra special. My fellow pink tutu enthusiast, "The Tutusaurus," (yes, it's as grand and inspiring as it sounds!) shared a recipe for the most delightful pink tutu-shaped cookies, and I thought it would be a perfect ending to our Monday together. Imagine a symphony of sweet flavors, each bite echoing the joy and happiness of dancing dreams!

*Here is the recipe, just for you: *

Pink Tutu Cookies

Ingredients: * 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened * 1 cup granulated sugar * 2 large eggs * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 3 cups all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon baking powder * 1/4 teaspoon salt * Pink food coloring * Pink sprinkles for decoration

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal portions. In one portion, gently knead in a small amount of pink food coloring until the dough is the desired shade of pink.
  7. Roll out each portion of dough to about 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  8. Use a small cookie cutter shaped like a ballerina or a tutu to cut out the shapes.
  9. Arrange the cookies on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with pink sprinkles while the cookies are still hot.

Enjoy these beautiful treats while reminiscing about your own dancing dreams and feeling the magic of pink tutu power! Remember, you are beautiful and bold! You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @pinktutublogger and keep up with my New York City escapades!
