From Derbyshire to The Big Apple: A Girl’s Dream
As you know, my passion for ballet and everything glamorous has taken me on a journey from my little village in Derbyshire to the vibrant heart of New York City. It’s a journey that began with a twirl on the cobblestones, a leap of faith, and a whole lot of pink!

Monday Magic: An Ode to The Metropolitan Museum of Art
As a firm believer in starting each week with a touch of culture, my Monday was a delightful visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The sheer scale and history of this place are utterly breathtaking!
Stepping inside is like stepping into a portal through time and around the globe. From the stunning Roman sculptures and ancient Egyptian artefacts to the breathtaking European paintings, every corner offered a new wonder to discover.
And, naturally, my inner fashionista was absolutely delighted by the Costume Institute exhibit, showcasing the evolution of style and the impact of fashion throughout history. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I found myself caught in a daydream, imagining myself twirling through those glorious gowns and elaborate outfits!
New York City Ballet: A Breathtaking Experience
After a day of art and culture, I was feeling oh-so-inspired! What better way to celebrate a good day than a visit to the legendary New York City Ballet?
The stage lights, the vibrant energy of the dancers, the breathtaking music – every element came together in a harmonious symphony of artistry. Seeing these world-renowned ballerinas perform live was a true spectacle; it left me speechless and filled me with inspiration.
It’s impossible not to feel utterly mesmerised watching their grace and agility unfold before your eyes. Every pirouette, every plié, every grand jeté – it's a ballet masterclass that you can’t help but admire.
I found myself captivated by the stories they told through their movements – tales of love, loss, and redemption, all beautifully woven into the fabric of the choreography. Ballet, it’s truly the universal language of emotions.
Broadway Brilliance: Stepping Into a Magical World
This weekend was pure magic as I stepped onto Broadway! And who doesn't love a bit of glitz and glamour? I am a huge fan of a good musical – those stunning voices, dazzling costumes, and captivating storylines are just enchanting!
Of course, a good dose of fashion had to be involved. So, before heading to the show, I had to do a little shopping spree! A little bird told me a new pink tutu was waiting for me at Tutu Couture! I’m not telling you what it looks like, I want it to be a surprise when I share the new look in my next post!
As soon as I stepped inside the theatre, I felt the excitement brewing. And then the curtain rose, the orchestra played the first notes, and the magic began! This was definitely one of those experiences you just have to be there to fully appreciate.
After the curtain call, I couldn’t help but reflect on the power of performance and the ability of theatre to transport you to another world.
Street-Style Inspirations: New York’s Walkways Are My Runway
While I adore the glamorous world of ballet and theatre, I find inspiration everywhere! As I whizzed around the city, my inner fashionista was completely enthralled by New York's street-style scene.
With every street corner a fashion parade, I felt an instant energy boost. It’s exhilarating seeing so many individuals embrace their own unique style, from sleek and modern to eclectic and bold.
I couldn’t help but think, “Everyone in New York could wear a pink tutu and look fabulous!” But more on that in a later blog! 😉
Exploring with The Metro: A Subterranean Adventure
This week was all about discovering more of this city’s hidden gems. And a new city can seem quite overwhelming until you master the subway.
Navigating the underground, whether by taking the MTA, hopping on a local LIRR train, or zipping around on a convenient JFK AirTrain journey, became my adventure. Of course, every time I jumped onto the A, C, E, F, M, 7, or any other route in this vast, fascinating network, I kept my eyes peeled for more fashion inspiration!
I love that the NYC metro is such a diverse and vibrant space. You encounter people from all walks of life, sharing a moment on their own journey through the city.
The Power of a Pink Tutu: A Message for Everyone
I always end my posts by highlighting my biggest dream – to encourage everyone to embrace their inner-tutu-wearing self! Why not unleash a little sparkle and twirl through life with a touch of pink?
Pink tutus aren't just about dancing. They are about confidence, self-expression, and celebrating all the beautiful colours of our personality. They are a reminder to live life with a little more joy, a little more sparkle, and a whole lot of heart.
