Hello lovelies! ??
It's Emma here, back from another whirlwind trip to the Big Apple! This city never fails to inspire me with its energy, fashion, and of course, incredible ballet performances. And what's a trip to New York without a dash of pink, right? I was sporting my new hot pink tutu - it perfectly matched the vibrant energy of the city, don't you think?
This time, I decided to take the plunge and explore the city through the eyes of a true New Yorker - the subway! I'll admit, my usual pink tutu ensemble definitely made me stand out on the packed trains. A few surprised looks and even a couple of shy smiles later, I was riding the rails like a seasoned New Yorker!

A Night at the Ballet: The reason for my trip was to see the ever-talented American Ballet Theatre's stunning rendition of "Giselle". ? I always get goosebumps when those iconic melodies kick in and the dancers glide across the stage. They truly made the story come to life, and I just love how ballet blends artistry with strength and emotion. I was swept away, even though I have seen it before, this one was so very good!
Shopping Spree!: Of course, no New York trip would be complete without a shopping spree! I managed to find a gorgeous pink cardigan with some dazzling embellishments (I may have gone a little overboard!). And I just couldn't resist buying a few new pink ballet shoes - gotta keep those feet happy! ?
A Broadway Buzz: I treated myself to a truly fantastic musical – "Hamilton"! I'd heard so much buzz about it and it lived up to the hype. I was blown away by the clever storytelling and incredible music, and it had the whole audience spellbound. Such amazing talent and the story about a man I knew little about - I will always have Hamilton by the way in my head now - fantastic, well done!
Discovering Downtown Charm: One of my favourite things about New York is its diverse range of neighbourhoods. I love exploring each unique charm, and this time I discovered the trendy streets of Soho. I took a long stroll, taking in the charming boutiques, art galleries, and buzzing cafes - truly an eclectic blend! And let me tell you, there wasn't a dull moment to be found.
Dancing Under the City Lights: New York just inspires creativity and passion! So, I grabbed my ballet bag and headed out to find a beautiful park to practise my pirouettes under the city lights. I swear, there’s nothing quite like dancing under the New York skyline – a perfect blend of urban cool and ballet grace. ✨
A Taste of New York: No journey to the city would be complete without tasting the delicious New York cuisine! This time, I discovered this amazing little cafe that served the best pumpkin spice latte I've ever had (yes, I had to have it - It's just one of those things!), paired with a flaky, buttery croissant - heaven on a plate!
A Day of Culture at the MoMA: On another day, I got lost in the world of art at the Museum of Modern Art. From iconic masterpieces to thought-provoking installations, it was a feast for the senses. It’s incredible what human creativity can achieve! The colours, textures, and themes ignited my imagination in a way nothing else could.
Fashionable Encounters: New Yorkers always seem to be rocking the latest trends, and it was a joy to see so many people embracing their own personal style. I saw everything from colourful vintage pieces to effortlessly chic streetwear, and it inspired me to get creative with my own looks. And what's better than a little fashion inspiration in a city that embraces everything?
My Pink Tutu in the City: As I strolled the bustling streets, I was reminded of how much I love being a Pink Tutu girl! My signature outfit definitely attracted attention - some folks gave me a friendly nod, others did double-takes, but I just relished the positive energy! It's my own little way to bring a bit of whimsy and colour into the world, and what's better than that? ?
Final Thoughts: New York truly stole my heart once again. I have such incredible memories, from the captivating ballet performances to the energetic city life and inspiring art scenes, it was a trip I'll cherish forever!
And now, back to my favourite Derbyshire countryside (not to mention a lot of hot baths and homemade cake). I will definitely be dreaming of New York until my next visit! ?
