#PinkTutuBlogNYC - Monday 2017-03-27: New York, New York, It's All Happening!
Hello my dearest darlings! It’s Monday morning, the sun is shining through my little Brooklyn apartment window, and I’m ready to share another week of adventures with you! It feels strange to be back in New York after spending the past couple of weeks on tour, but I always love coming back to this incredible city. The energy, the vibrancy, the constant movement - it feels like I’ve been reborn every time I land back here!
Today's blog post is a special one because, drumroll please… it’s my 1138th blog post from New York City! This magical journey of sharing my #PinkTutu adventures with all of you started in this amazing metropolis, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.
So, what has been going on in this tutu-loving life of mine this week? Where do I even start?
Firstly, the most exciting news! I finally got to see An American in Paris! I know, I know, it took forever, but I was waiting for the perfect moment to enjoy it, and trust me, this was the perfect moment! It was breathtaking, utterly stunning, and just completely magical. I honestly felt like I was transported straight onto the Champs-Élysées! My friend Anna, who has the best eye for everything fashion, treated me to a glass of champagne afterwards. And honestly, it doesn’t get more glamorous than champagne at Lincoln Center. Swoon!
*Speaking of Anna, we spent a couple of hours at the new pop-up fashion exhibit in Soho. * This is the first of its kind in New York, and they were showcasing incredible looks from some of the most iconic designers in the world. It’s been fascinating seeing how fashion trends have evolved throughout the decades.
The highlight for me was getting my hands on an exquisite piece of jewellery designed by Coco Chanel! I couldn’t believe I was even allowed to touch it - it’s the ultimate chic touch, something any girl with a love of glamour can dream about.
Oh, and have you seen this season’s fabulous handbag collections? * It’s madness, absolute madness! I might have gone slightly overboard in Bloomingdales… just a little. My newest sparkly number will perfectly compliment my pink tutu for tonight’s ballet performance. Did I tell you that I am doing the lead in *Sleeping Beauty on Saturday? **I can’t even!
Now, back to the journey… After the Soho shopping spree, we found the best little corner cafe near the Museum of Modern Art and indulged in the most decadent slice of lemon meringue pie! You’d think after that delightful experience, we’d be done for the day, wouldn’t you? Nope, this little pink tutu fairy was far from done!
I finally discovered this incredible vintage shop hidden in the backstreets of Greenwich Village! This treasure trove of the past was crammed with everything you could imagine. Old posters from vintage musicals, fabulous dresses from the 1960s, and hats! Oh my, the hats! This place was truly a vintage girl's paradise, and I emerged with a beautifully embroidered vintage handbag (I may have also gotten a vintage fedora with pink feathers…).
It's not always about designer labels, sometimes the best treasures come from unexpected corners.
What else did we do? I took Anna to my favorite Broadway show - The Phantom of the Opera - and it never fails to move me. And honestly, when we emerged from the theatre, I felt so light, filled with happiness and a feeling of belonging. We finished the day by getting delicious hot dogs from a street vendor at Times Square, dancing like crazy to the beat of the street performers, and simply reveling in the magic of this incredible city!
And as always, my day in New York concluded with a breathtaking sunset from my little Brooklyn apartment balcony. Honestly, how can this place not make you smile?
So there you have it, another wonderful week in New York City, seen through the pink tutu lenses. And to finish off, I simply adore all of you. The fact that I can share my adventures with you - from my pink tutus, ballet shoes, and sparkly clothes, to all the amazing people, sights, and experiences in this crazy, beautiful city - makes this whole thing truly special. It's a pink tutu dream come true!
Stay tuned, dear darlings. It's only going to get even more amazing!
Until next week!
With all my love, Emma

The Power of Pink: Spreading Tutu-tiful Inspiration
As you all know, I believe everyone has the right to express themselves through style. There’s nothing quite like the confidence boost you get from a killer outfit, and in my opinion, a pink tutu always puts a smile on your face!
So what exactly is it about the pink tutu that’s so appealing?
*Pink, of course! * It's the colour of love, femininity, and joyful energy! It makes a statement and tells the world "I’m happy, I'm bold, and I love to celebrate life!" I always feel so much more alive when I’m wearing pink, it’s like a little shot of positivity!
Tutus, on the other hand, are more than just a piece of clothing - they’re a symbol of imagination, playfulness, and freedom. The whimsical silhouette, the soft tulle, and the movement it allows - they bring out the child in all of us!
*Together, pink and tutu create the ultimate magical combination! *
And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little magic in their lives?
My mission is to inspire people to wear pink tutus, to be bold and embrace their inner ballerina!
Here are a few ideas for incorporating the pink tutu magic into your everyday life!
The Pink Tutu Challenge: How about we all make a pact to wear a pink tutu at least once this week? It can be for a casual stroll around town, a dance class, a trip to the park, or even just at home! Just don’t forget to take a picture and tag me on social media so I can see how you're rocking the pink tutu life!
*Spread the Joy: *If you love the colour pink and the whimsical magic of tutus, why not gift them to others?
Don't be shy - let your inner pink tutu fairy fly! You can spread some much-needed cheer by donating a tutu to a children's hospital, an arts charity, or even to your local dance school. This small gesture can bring joy and magic into their lives.
Style Inspiration: Check out my Instagram for some pink tutu fashion ideas! I’m always on the lookout for fun, new ways to wear a pink tutu in different outfits. You'd be surprised how many outfits you can spice up with just a simple pink tutu accessory.
From the UK to NYC, and Back Again
It’s amazing to be a ballet dancer in New York City, the capital of the performing arts! But despite all the adventures here, there's no place like home. Every time I leave Derbyshire, England, I carry a little bit of its beautiful scenery, charming towns, and lovely countryside with me wherever I go.
My love for ballet and the art of dance began in the charming little village where I grew up. There’s just something so magical about stepping onto the stage and sharing stories through movement, music, and costumes.
My home village is a vibrant place, full of creative souls and amazing communities that come together to celebrate art in all its forms.
It's not surprising then that Derbyshire has produced many extraordinary dancers and musicians.
Even after my adventures all over the world, Derbyshire is the place where my heart feels truly at home! It’s the place where I’ve discovered the true power of community and the joy of sharing creative energy with others.
*And my journey with you all? * It’s the greatest adventure of all! Sharing my pink tutu adventures with all of you keeps me energized, excited, and always full of inspiration!
I can’t wait to continue this adventure together and see where the next pink tutu will take us!
See you next Monday!
*With all my love, *
Emma
