Hello darlings! It's Monday, and that means another exciting chapter in my Pink Tutu adventures! This week, I'm whisked away to the vibrant city that never sleeps - the fabulous New York City! It's always a thrill to arrive in the Big Apple, a place where dreams are made (and, perhaps, a pink tutu or two!), and this week's trip is no exception.
This weekend, I graced the stage at the magnificent Joyce Theatre with a performance of 'Giselle.' You know I love my classical ballet, and there's no better place to experience it than in New York! The energy from the audience was electric, and the sheer passion for ballet was palpable. You've simply got to see it for yourself - I tell you, you'd be utterly smitten with New York's love affair with dance!
Taking the Subway in Style
As soon as my performance was over, I was off to the bustling hub of Times Square. A true Pink Tutu moment wouldn't be complete without a thrilling journey on the iconic NYC Subway, you know. I do love the efficient elegance of a good subway ride – especially in New York. Let's face it, getting about on a metro in your favourite pink tutu takes confidence, doesn’t it? The way I see it, it’s just the perfect touch of magic for a day in this beautiful, lively city.
My mission is to bring the magic of pink tutus to every corner of New York, and the subway is just one of those places.
And speaking of magic, this week is particularly special! It’s April 24th, a day brimming with charm. The 24th marks the feast day of Saint George, the patron saint of England! Now, I’m a true Derbyshire lass at heart, and there’s something undeniably heartwarming about remembering the patron saint of England, no matter where I am. But more on my love for my Derbyshire roots in another blog.
Tutu Shopping & A Night at the Theatre
My adventures took me to Fifth Avenue, of course, the shopping paradise of the city. The colours were just breathtaking, especially those gorgeous vibrant pinks – you know how I love a dash of colour! My mission, as you know, is to inspire you all to embrace the wonder of pink tutus. While you might not think a pink tutu goes with everything, that is where your imagination falls short, darling! A good pink tutu is truly timeless and elevates any outfit to pure elegance. And this afternoon, I found some true gems - you simply must wait to see what I've acquired for the blog later this week!
Later, I had the privilege of attending a spectacular musical on Broadway. The magic of a good Broadway show never ceases to amaze me, especially when paired with a perfectly pink ensemble (as you can imagine)!
You just never know what treasures New York has to offer - it's a city full of surprises! This time around, I even came across a street performance right outside my hotel! They were performing "The Nutcracker," one of my absolute favourite ballets, right on the sidewalk, amidst the honking cars and city life. Such wonderful spontaneity!
Living the New York Life
New York has it all! You can stroll through Central Park, a beautiful, vibrant green space, as effortlessly elegant in a flowing pink tutu as you would be dressed in jeans! There’s an aura of energy in this city that's infectious. Even the little coffee shops radiate that classic, elegant NYC charm.
The people here in New York are fascinating. As you may have heard, New York has an incredible energy, so vibrant and dynamic! Everyone seems to be doing their own thing – rushing about their day, or perhaps sketching in a café or reading poetry in a park. Each little bit of New York has a unique vibe, and I find the energy so empowering! You just can’t help but be inspired by everyone’s determination to reach their goals!
This whole journey, the dancing, the shopping, and experiencing the city's vibe has been just what I needed. A moment to remind myself why I love dancing, why I love pink tutus and why I just have to see the world!
And I can’t leave New York without a heartfelt reminder – if you ever find yourself feeling uncertain, I always encourage you to put on your favourite pink tutu and embrace the wonderful chaos that life offers. Remember, the world is waiting for you to express your inner brilliance.
