Hello my lovely tutu-wearing friends! It's Monday again, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuBlogNYC update! I'm back in my favourite city - the bustling, vibrant, absolutely captivating New York City!
This week's post is a little extra special as I'm celebrating something absolutely fabulous. This is my 1188th blog post - I'm so grateful to all of you who read my ramblings every week and support my little tutu-filled dream. 🥰
It's been an amazing weekend here in the Big Apple, and my tutu-tastic adventures have taken me to some amazing places.
A Ballet-Filled Adventure:
Friday was all about ballet, of course! I spent the evening at the stunning New York City Ballet at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. The energy of the dancers and the brilliance of the performances left me breathless. Watching those talented ballerinas glide across the stage in their beautiful tutus ignited my own love of the art.
It's incredible to think that I've now performed at Lincoln Center and even more amazing that I get to enjoy such world-class performances in such a spectacular setting. 🩰
Pink Power Shopping:
I confess, I couldn't resist squeezing in some shopping after the ballet. My absolute favourite department store in the city, Bloomingdale's, had some amazing offers on dresses, so I had to treat myself. I found a gorgeous blush-pink dress (pink is always my go-to colour, of course!) with delicate ruffles that just begs to be twirled in. 🌸
Street Performance Spectacle:
Saturday took me on a charming walk around Greenwich Village. This area of NYC is a true treasure trove of artistic talent!
On Bleecker Street, I bumped into a group of talented young performers. The energy and sheer joy of their show left me in awe! The best part was the finale. They invited the crowd to join in with them, dancing to a fast-paced and exhilarating rendition of "Sing, Sing, Sing!" We all joined in, twirling and having an absolute ball, I swear I saw a little spark of excitement in the eyes of a grumpy looking old gentleman who’d initially been scowling at our group - a truly inspiring moment! 💖
A Subway Adventure:
Of course, a trip to New York City isn't complete without riding the subway. My favourite way to get around! The vibrant energy of the underground is unlike anything else, you never quite know what's around the corner, and that is such an exhilarating experience! Plus, let's be honest, the metro really gives you that fabulous New Yorker energy, the place buzzes with life! I'm definitely not afraid to break out my favourite pink tutu while waiting on the platform for the subway, I truly feel empowered when I wear my tutu, it reminds me that it’s my world to explore and conquer - who can resist the power of pink and sparkles? 💃✨
Broadway Dreams:
Tonight's the big one! I'm going to see a Broadway show! It’s an amazing feeling to see so much talent concentrated in a city and this show is going to be absolutely amazing! The anticipation has been building all week, and I just can’t wait to immerse myself in the dazzling world of theatre.
It is moments like these that remind me of how fortunate I am to live my dream. From Derbyshire, England to the dazzling lights of New York City, it’s all been an amazing journey and I can't wait to share it all with you. 🥰
What's Next:
This week has already been jam-packed with excitement, but there's more to come! My plans include:
- Ballet Classes: Because every ballerina needs a regular dance fix, right?! The studios here in NYC are truly something else, full of inspiration and a fabulous vibe - I am looking forward to expanding my repertoire and learning new steps, that is definitely going to make for some super exciting new posts soon! 💖
- Food Adventures: New York City is known for its diverse cuisine. I'll be trying a variety of food markets and restaurants to see what new delights await. Look out for my Instagram posts - I'll be showcasing all my favourite dishes. 😉
- Shopping: It wouldn't be a #PinkTutuBlogNYC post without a little shopping spree, and I have my sights set on finding the perfect pink tutu outfit for a future performance - the colour is all about my positive energy and my joy for all things twirly and beautiful. I simply adore anything with sparkles and ruffles - after all, what’s a ballerina without her sparkle and shine? ✨
A Note to You, My Dearest Tutu Friends:
Wherever you are in the world, I want to encourage you to embrace your passion. Never let anyone tell you you can't follow your dreams, even if they involve a pink tutu! ✨
I'm living proof that you can make your dreams come true with enough passion, dedication, and a good dose of pink tutu magic. 😉
