Pink Tutu Blog NYC - Monday 1st October 2018 - Post 1217: New York City Dreams!
Hello my darling dears! It's Emma here, writing to you from the dazzling city of New York, my absolute favourite city in the whole wide world! Today marks the beginning of my October adventures in the Big Apple, and oh my, do I have stories to tell!
First off, I've got to share this: I have fallen head over heels for the New York subway! Yes, I know, it sounds a bit odd. But let me tell you, taking the subway is an experience in itself. Just picture this: me, swirling around in my beautiful pink tutu, amongst the rush of people on the platform. The energy is electrifying! Everyone is buzzing, rushing around, a flurry of business and dreams - I love it! Of course, no New York adventure is complete without a little bit of ballet. Today, Iām attending a delightful workshop on classical ballet at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in downtown Manhattan! Oh, it was so lovely! It really felt like home in a beautiful studio full of mirrors and gorgeous dancers, like a scene straight out of a ballet!
This week I am absolutely obsessed with all things pink, just look at this amazing pink dress! It's a total fashion statement and it makes me feel like a real ballerina princess. Plus, who could say no to a pink and black ballerina outfit?! I even managed to find this divine pink handbag from a local boutique here! I swear I have the best fashion finds when Iām in New York! It is simply impossible to resist the fashion wonderland here, the shops and boutiques are divine! I even took my pink tulle scarf and I found a vintage pink hat on sale from a little pink shop which perfectly complements the outfit. Oh, I love wearing pink! It really makes me feel so cheerful and feminine. My New York apartment is pink themed with pink fluffy throws and pink cushions, and it is my safe haven away from my tiny room in my tiny flat in Derbyshire, England!
Tonight, I'm planning on catching a show in the Theater District. I can't wait to feel the energy of Broadway and witness some of the best performances in the world! You simply must come here and visit if you love a bit of theatre - and remember, New York has the best restaurants in the world! I found an Italian Restaurant called Spasso with fantastic service and even better pasta!
My adventures in New York continue tomorrow, and I'll be sharing all the details with you on the blog next week. Make sure you're back here every Monday to join me on my pink-tutu-infused journey through this magnificent city. Until then, happy twirling and let's spread the joy of pink!
Love,
Emma xoxo

How Iām paying for my tripItās no secret I am obsessed with traveling and the only way to really experience the best this planet has to offer - like New York, where I just love the energy, is by working, taking jobs, performing - it keeps me feeling super positive and makes it all possible. So the fact I am here in my pink tutu in New York means that I've been busy, traveling, and yes - performing! And it makes me feel great. Just the other week, I even had the honour of opening a local fundraising gala for a childrenās charity in Derbyshire. There were some of the best performers in my region all dressed in our Pink Tutues - oh my what a truly special occasion.
This trip, though, is the trip of a lifetime. It is so important to travel and experience everything that this wonderful world has to offer. After this, I am heading back to England for a ballet workshop in London where I can teach dancers my style. I am currently auditioning for Londonās famous ballet companies - and of course - when the opportunity arises, I will share all the news on the blog!
Stay Pink my darling dearsā¦ I am so glad to be in New York City.
Emma xxx.
