Pink Tutu Blog: NYC – Monday 2019-07-29 – New York City Dance Dreams!
Hello, darlings! Welcome to another week of Pink Tutu Blog NYC. It's me, Emma, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, back from another whirlwind weekend in the Big Apple. Today, I'm bursting with stories about dancing, dazzling performances, and all things pink, naturally!
Post #1260: Dancing in New York City
This week has been an absolute dream, full of fabulous events that got my heart thumping with excitement.
A Ballet Blitz
I kicked off the weekend with a mesmerising ballet performance at the iconic Lincoln Center. Oh my goodness, the dancers were incredible! Their graceful movements were so captivating, their leaps soared so high, it truly was an awe-inspiring spectacle. The performance left me wanting more. The entire evening felt magical. I’m certain you can imagine me dancing in the aisles after, especially after spotting another lovely lady wearing her own beautiful pink tutu! The thrill of seeing a fellow tutu-lover in the crowd gave me goosebumps, and for a few magical minutes, it was as if all of New York City was swept away by the magic of pink tutus.
I simply adore the theatre scene here in New York City!
Street Style & Cityscapes
From the stunning performances at the ballet to the hustle and bustle of Broadway, this city never sleeps. The vibrancy and diversity are palpable on every street corner. I loved exploring different neighbourhoods and discovering hidden gems – there’s always something new to see and do.
Of course, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu Blogger if I didn't bring my A-game when it comes to street style. I sported my favourite pale pink tutu, adorned with sparkling sequins. Paired with a chic black crop top and sleek heels, it was a whimsical and effortless ensemble that definitely caught some eyes on my journey. It wasn’t long before I spotted other girls in their tutus and our eyes met! The tutus on these women looked great with their skirts and jeans – they’re a must-have addition to your wardrobe no matter what style you favour!
Speaking of which, a walk along Fifth Avenue is never complete without a spot of window shopping. From the luxurious boutiques to the vibrant independent stores, the city truly offers a feast for the eyes. Oh, the allure of designer shoes, glamorous gowns, and fabulous accessories – what a treasure trove for any fashionista. I admit, I treated myself to a little something, and what else could it be but a new pink scarf with little tutu-like swirls?! This city simply makes you want to dance with delight.
Subway Adventures & City Rhythm
Being a Derbyshire girl, I admit, navigating the New York subway is quite a thrilling experience. There’s a real sense of anonymity in that underground labyrinth of corridors – for a short moment, I become a secret agent moving through the city, completely unobserved! That sense of privacy, the journey’s hidden beauty – all add to the charm.
I'm all for a little adventure in my travels and the New York Metro never disappoints! On Friday, after an amazing evening spent catching up with old friends at a charming cafe near Times Square, I decided to try something different and take the Staten Island Ferry. I must say, the views of the city skyline were truly breathtaking – a breathtaking glimpse of the city's vastness from the calm of the water, where I sat contemplating life, in my pink tutu, of course.
Ballet Dreams & Future Aspirations
From Derbyshire, to London, and now, across the Atlantic to New York City, I’m lucky to live this dream – travelling, dancing, sharing my passion with the world.
Every time I see a performance here in New York City, my heart beats with the joy of knowing that my dreams have the possibility of coming true. I simply love to share my passion with everyone – not just the world of dance and all things pink, but with my fellow dancers and, ultimately, my dear readers. Every week, I’m grateful that you join me for the journey, and thank you, from the bottom of my tutu, for your unwavering support. Keep reading!
