Pink Tutu Blog: NYC, Monday 2020-01-20 - She Danced in New York City! š©°āØ
Hello lovelies! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, Pink Tutu Blog. Itās Monday, so you know what that means ā time for another dose of NYC adventures! This weekās post is all about dancing in the Big Apple, because letās face it, whatās better than a sparkly pink tutu twirling amidst the towering skyscrapers?
Iāve been absolutely living my best life here in the city that never sleeps! From ballet shows to street performances, my dance card has been full to the brim with exciting experiences. This week I want to share all the pink and twirling magic with you.
But before we get to that, a quick little hello from yours truly, Emma, your pink tutu-clad blogger. Iām a 20-something dreamer from Derbyshire, England, and my mission in life is simple: get everyone to wear a pink tutu! I believe that life is just a little bit more joyful when youāre wearing pink and twirling your way through the day. Plus, a pink tutu can literally make anything, from a commute on the subway to a romantic evening in the park, a little more magical.
Speaking of magical, letās jump back to the whirlwind that was this past week in NYC!
Week 1285: A Pink Tutu Paradise
This week, New York was awash with pink tutus and sparkling joy!
Monday: I started the week with a bang ā a fabulous performance by the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center. It was a breathtaking evening filled with artistry, grace, and an array of colourful costumes. I even saw a tutu or two that were a little too pink for my liking (a shade too peachy!), but you know I love to support any kind of tutued expression!
Tuesday: After all that ballet, it was time to recharge (with a little bit of retail therapy, of course!). I treated myself to a brand-new pink tutu, oh, itās the most beautiful shade of bubblegum and it shimmers like a thousand stars. I canāt wait to wear it to my ballet class tomorrow!
Wednesday: As a devoted member of the NYC dance community, Wednesday saw me dancing my heart out in the studio. I love attending classes like āTutus in the City,ā where the emphasis is on fun, self-expression and of course, tutus!
Thursday: Who says you need a stage to twirl? A pink tutu is just as welcome on the street! On Thursday I got lost in the vibrant street performance scene at Washington Square Park. From juggling to breakdancing, and even some impromptu ballet, the atmosphere was electrifying! Of course, I did my fair share of twirling. You canāt visit Washington Square Park without showcasing some moves, can you? I just knew my little pink tutu would blend right in with the city's funky vibes. And of course, I captured it all on my blog! Thereās just something special about a tutu amidst the cityscape - it brings out a childlike joy in everyone!
Friday: A ballet performance? Of course! On Friday, I saw a sensational rendition of āThe Nutcracker,ā which transported me to a world of wonder with Tchaikovsky's music. And letās be honest, who can resist a whole roomful of dancing, sparkly tutus? It's my idea of absolute perfection.
Saturday: I went back to my roots and explored the magical world of Central Park. A picturesque backdrop for a delightful ballet practice, if I may say so myself. It felt utterly magical as I twirled among the autumn leaves and the fallen leaves swirled around my little pink tutu.
Sunday: The city is full of delightful hidden treasures! Today, I took a journey down memory lane by revisiting the American Museum of Natural History. This amazing place always manages to evoke the magic of childhood and ignite my imagination. But the real highlight of the day was a beautiful pop-up ballet performance that had gathered a crowd right outside the museum. The grace of the dancers set against the backdrop of the museum's historic faƧade was truly something to behold. Thereās something wonderful about encountering a unexpected ballet performance, and this one certainly left me smiling!
Balancing the Budget and the Tutus:
If you've been wondering how I manage to fund my travels and keep those ballet shoes (and of course, tutus) flowing, well, it's a little dance of its own! I am blessed with the opportunity to perform ballet for different events and venues, which not only fuels my passion for dancing but also keeps my pink tutu-clad travels alive. You see, ballet isnāt just my passion ā itās also my paycheck.
The New York City dance scene is just as competitive as the city itself, so thereās always something to inspire me to keep practising, refining, and twirling!
Pink Tutu Tips:
Hereās a little insiderās tip to inspire your own Pink Tutu adventure, whether in New York or anywhere in the world! Remember, if you dream big enough, you can do anything! If thereās one thing Iāve learned on this Pink Tutu adventure, it's this:
Follow Your Tutu Heart! ā Life is far too short to spend it in anything other than a pink tutu. (Okay, perhaps there are other outfits for the day-to-day things. But the point is ā never let go of the pink tutu magic!).
Embrace the Magic of Pink: It's the colour of joy, hope, and playful abandon.
Live your best Tutu Life: Find a pink tutu that makes you feel powerful, whimsical, and absolutely YOU!
Take Chances and Dance in Your Tutu: Donāt be afraid to let your inner ballerina out! Embrace the freedom and joy of twirling!
Remember: Itās Always Tutu Season
Remember, you donāt need to live in NYC to embrace a pink tutu and have an extraordinary time! Every place has a story to tell, and a pink tutu can be your ticket to dancing your way through it all!
Until next Monday,
Keep twirling, keep shining!
